Chapter 415: The Twisted Thread of Fate
Chapter 415: The Twisted Thread of Fate
After relentless assaults from the mages, and finisher moves by the 1st generation witch elders, the heavenly demon perished before it could fully awaken.
It had just risen, and it had already met its demise.
"Disperse." Alicia used the anti-evil magic item given by Goddess Ely to neutralize the evil curse.
*Bam!*
The gigantic heavenly demon fell to the ground, died helplessly, and slowly turned into dark particles. The evil curse was purified and dispersed into thin air.
"It’s just unbelievable." Zhuan Mei widened her eyes as if she couldn’t believe what she saw with her own eyes.
Nobody could tell how many Gods and Immortals had suffered and died because of the curse after exterminating the heavenly demon.
Exterminating a heavenly demon would come with life-threatening risks, but what would await afterward was more terrifying than death itself.
Yet! The heavenly curse, the most terrifying scourge of the heavenly demon could finally lose its glory.
"This one is the last minion." Lucius split the humanoid demon in half, burning it in a fiery fire.
"Good job, everyone. Also, thank you for your assistance, friends from Qinlan Sect." Alicia breathed a sigh of relief after ensuring that no demon survived the purge.
"You have our gratitude, Lady Alicia. If it weren’t for you and the Sanguine Occult, we couldn’t imagine the damage these demons would bring." Zhao Yuqi clasped her fist, paying her respect to the witch leader.
The lady before her was a breathtaking beauty with a fiery red magical glow. And, this 10th Rank mage was accompanied by many talented high-rank mages.
"Uhm, if you’re grateful, then can we do some farming in the area around here?" One of the witches asked with a glint in her eyes.
"Oh, okay." Zhao Yuqi wondered the reason, but she didn’t bother with it.
"Wonderful~ Since you are part of the alliance, then we can be called allies." Medea put her hands together happily.
She got revived by Goddess Ely in advance even though she and her apprentice still didn’t have enough required materials yet. Even so, it put her in a debt of resources to Sacred Sakura’s treasury, and the revived witches still had to return their debts.
"Err... we are allies? Please pardon me for my rudeness, but this is the first time I have heard of Sanguine Occult in this cultivation world." Zhao Yuqi was somewhat surprised, but she felt somewhat relieved.
"The world is so big and wide, daoist friend. Quadtria even has three parts of the world." Ruri rolled her eyes. Sanguine Occult had just been formed, and the outside world had yet to know it.
"I see... Please pardon me for my ignorance." Zhao Yuqi clasped her fist once again.
"..." Lucius checked his merit points. He was still far from covering his master’s debt to Sacred Sakura’s treasury.
This mission also would not give many points because they were moving in a large group. He also had to collect some more materials and resources.
He might need to act in a smaller team, but the risks involved in every heavenly demon extermination mission were so great. Everyone wanted to play it safe, including himself, because he didn’t want his master to die again.
His points were still considered minus, and he had to be more diligent and patient before he could buy something at the Sacred Sakura Shop.
Alicia then informed all the mages that it was time for them to leave. They excused themselves to the Qinlan Sect’s people before going into the wilderness to do some farming and look for the mastermind who triggered the heavenly demon awakening in this place.
"Hey, when did you join this mage cult?" Zhuan Mei landed, approaching Lucius with great curiosity.
"Recently. Also, it’s Sanguine Occult, a great mage organization." Lucius looked aside then flew up, following the other mages.
"Then, why did you never tell me? You left without a word. Hey, wait for me!"
"Don’t follow me, girl."
"I can go wherever I want. Even though you are no longer Qinlan Sect’s disciple, we are still allies, right? Hey, tell me about your goal."
"We shall destroy the heavenly demon."
"Hum, that’s as I expected from you. But, may I know how you got that magical staff that can neutralize the heavenly demon curse and evil energy?"
"..."
Lucius was silent, feeling tired of talking to this chatterbox. He once teamed up with her for several days that day, and he felt reluctant to experience it again.
"Fufu, that is a public secret. If you are under the auspices of the Sacred Sakura Holy Land, you can get a lot of good stuff and benefits." Medea flew closer, answering for her apprentice.
"Sacred Sakura Holy Land..." Zhuan Mei muttered softly. She had heard about the Sacred Sakura Holy Land very much recently.
Based on rumors, Sacred Sakura held the most honor and authority above other holy lands. In addition, Sacred Sakura single-handedly put everyone under an alliance, ending the eternal dispute between the Human Realm and Demon Realm.
It was hard to imagine how Sacred Sakura could achieve such a feat because she knew someone couldn’t get it done even with a stronger fist.
’Sacred Sakura... I need to know more about this holy land. No wonder the Son of Heaven immediately left Qinlan Sect because he knew the better place. But, why didn’t he invite me? He left me in Qinlan Sect and took all the good things by himself. He’s always like this. I can’t let him enjoy it all by himself.’ Zhuan Mei made up her mind while clenched her fist.
"Lady Medea, would it be possible for me to tag along during your mission? I would like to broaden my horizons. I won’t be a burden. I promise you." Zhuan Mei asked with a gleaming gaze.
"Sure thing, but you need to get permission from your master first." Medea considered that for a moment. It was rare for her apprentice to be close to a girl, and she wouldn’t miss the opportunity to match them. However, she still had to know about courtesy, knowing Zhuan Mei belonged to the Qinlan Sect. "Lady Zhao Yuqi, what do you think?"
"This one has no objection, but I hope to follow your good clause, Lady Medea. I hope you don’t mind me coming along to broaden my horizon." Zhao Yuqi received her good disciple’s gesture and grabbed the opportunity to tag along as well.
"Fufu, you are so polite. Lady Alicia, can we?" Medea laughed lightly and asked the witch leader for permission.
"You have our permission. But we can only accommodate two people. Also, stay in the back line. We don’t want to explain anything to the Qinlan Sect if you are injured during our extermination mission." Alicia gave her permission with consideration.
"You heard it." Medea smiled in reply.
Zhao Yuqi expressed her gratitude. She instructed Qin Lan’s elders and disciples to immediately return to the sect to report. She and her disciple then flew away with the Sanguine Occult’s group.
"Hehe~" Zhuan Mei made a victory pose. She would discover more about Sacred Sakura and Sanguine Occult. Apart from that, she would also try to awaken the Son of Heaven’s memories.
"..." Lucius rolled his eyes.
While the Daughter of Heaven went with Sanguine Occult, the original Son of Heaven had just arrived in the Chthonic World to visit the Elysion Chruch.
He traveled an incredible distance from Terra World just to meet Holy Priestess Miko, the one he believed to be his destined one.
"I finally arrived at the Elysion Grand Cathedral... That was so long, partner." Yang Jian looked at the majestic holy cathedral before him with a sparkling gaze.
"Kyui!" The fluffy pet next to him also jumped with joy. They finally arrived at their destination after going through many obstacles.
Yang Jian went to do something with his shabby appearance because he had to appear neat and charming in front of his destined one. After that, he entered the cathedral area, but several holy knights immediately stopped him.
"The Grand Cathedral is not currently open to the public. State your purpose of arrival, sir." One of the holy knights blocked the path when the visitor was about to go past him.
"I came to see the saintess, I mean, Holy Priestess Miko. Tell me that I, Yang Jian, the holy son have come to see her." Yang Jian spoke confidently.
"Do you think you’re a big shot or something? That’s ridiculous. Please leave." The other holy knight smirked in contempt and shooed the random rogue cultivator away.
Yang Jian couldn’t accept such ridicule, and he tried to explain once again that Priestess Miko would obviously have come to see him when she caught news of his name.
Unfortunately, the holy knights took it for granted and still blocked the path as they would never allow any outsiders to pass. But, the troublemaker was so stubborn.
The situation became a little heated, and the irritated holy knight had to take direct action to expel the unreasonable people.
As the high-handed precaution was released to repel, Yang Jian responded with extreme action and blasted the holy knights from his path.
*Bam!* *Splash!*
The two holy knights were blown away and fell into the river below the holy bridge.
"Enemy attack! Intruder!"
Someone cried out, and Yang Jian immediately paled as dozens of holy knights came out of nowhere and surrounded him.
Even a 10th Rank holy knight lady came with her unsheathed holy sword, ready to cut him down!
"We just returned and someone is bold enough to cause trouble in our Grand Cathedral? Apprehend him!" Myra sighed as she could see the troublemaker was only a 6th Rank rogue cultivator.
"Wait, wait, I’m not an enemy! This is all just a misunderstanding. Please listen to me!" Yang Jian raised his arms upwards.
"Give yourself up, lie on the ground, hands behind your head, and spread those legs." Myra squinted her eyes and pointed her holy sword at the offender.
She was still tired because she had just returned from an extermination mission, and she wanted to rest immediately.
"Why spread one’s legs?!" Yang Jian cried out in injustice, but he still lay on the ground.
He was soon detained in the cathedral dungeon, including his pet.
