Chapter 435: Lay in Ruins
Chapter 435: Lay in Ruins
"The Polluted Sea God was split into several scourges. I think we need to check several regions and see what is happening on each continent." Lifa proposed an idea, and it was approved by Elysia.
However, the Vrelenian Goddesses did their best to convince Elysia to take everything slow as they would resolve everything with their own efforts.
"Alright, but you have to go in groups. We will go to the source of the problem together later." Elysia nodded in understanding while staring at the polluted water in the ocean in the far east.
"Master, please bless us." Vanessa knelt down, asking for blessings. She took the lead and was followed by the other girls.
Elysia granted them several magical blessings. She knew they took this decision because they wanted to protect Vrelenia without needing to delegate more burden and responsibility to her.
Since they wanted to check out their family members and homeland, then she wouldn’t stop them.
Lifa, Nell, and Rhea also excused themselves after receiving Elysia’s permission.
"Please follow us as well, Fortuna. We need your help." Rhea grabbed Fortuna’s arm.
"Uh-huh? Alright then. You will also go with me." Fortuna was dragged away. However, she reached out her hand to bring Darkness with her as well.
"Huh!? Unhand me first!" Darkness tried to shake off Fortuna’s grip, but she couldn’t.
"Be obedient. We will show you around during the world’s inspection." Fortuna released Darkness and they flew away, following Lifa’s lead to the north.
"..." Elysia took a deep breath and clasped her hands in prayer to bless everyone’s safety.
Half of the group went to carry out several tasks that they proposed personally, leaving only Elysia, Elena, Ai, Zera, Yuuki, Sylvia, Xentia, Erina, and Mio behind.
"Priestess Lucia." Elysia called out.
"At your service, Divine Grace!" Lucia was excited as she felt she would be given a blessing and task by the Highest Goddess personally.
"We’ll take a stroll. Bring this with you. We can communicate using this." Elysia handed over a golden telecommunication talisman to the faithful nun. She raised her finger and granted Lucia a direct blessing.
Lucia felt enlightened. After she regained her composure, she bowed respectfully. "As your wish, Divine Grace."
<| Lv. 145 | Lucia | Blessed Spirit | Female(5) |>
<| Faith: 100% |>
<| Talent: 5 Stars | UR |>
Elysia still had many questions about Lucia’s origin, but she didn’t mind it much since Lucia was one of the few fruitful believers with perfect faith.
Those with faith above 95% would carry out her order even if it would go against their principles, but the ones with 100% faith would never question anything and might resemble a slightly crazy devout believer in some situations.
’But, what’s wrong with her age? Is she a holy spirit born from the world’s leyline or something?’ Elena still felt a little suspicious about Lucia’s origin, but this magical entity held nothing but pure obedience to the Goddess of Magic Elysia.
’This spirit has only been around for five years, but she almost reached Erina’s level. She also possessed an important role and position in the Sky Library. Sky God Spirit and Ice God Spirit nurtured her well.’ Ai also couldn’t help but comment.
’Hum, Vrelenia holds twice the value of Earth. By Quadtria’s standards, she is at least 5th Rank.’ Elysia gave Lucia’s shoulder a gentle pat before turning around. Disappeared with her group by teleportation. They went to Sylvia’s destroyed homeland.
"Priestess Lucia, we need to prepare a lot of things. Call the other priestesses to the sacred hall. Goddess Ely and her group will punish the Polluted Sea God soon." Ice God Spirit spoke with a solemn tone.
"Yes, Lord Ice God Spirit." Lucia grasped her hand and bowed slightly before jumping down and returning to the church.
"Phew, it’s great news to see them back. It’s a shame that Xero isn’t around right now. But, do you think Regulus will be safe from the beating? Those ladies are intimidating and overbearing." Sky God Spirit breathed a sigh of relief.
"Nah. Regulus has a lot of wrongdoings. You need to prepare yourself as well. You have an appointment for a private meeting with Goddess Ely. Have you been misbehaving lately and been discovered by her divination?" Ice God Spirit crossed his arms, feeling suspicious.
"What do you mean? I am an upright spirit. But, are you able to interpret her implied intentions?"
"She is no longer the same Young Goddess from five years ago. Even I can’t see through her any more. She also hides her aura, and almost resembles an ordinary person’s presence." Ice God Spirit shrugged his shoulders before floating through the wall, going back to the sacred hall.
"Hum... Goddess Ely might want to reward me? That’s definitely true because I’m so handsome and good at managing this Sky Library and nurturing the promising talented seedlings." Sky God Spirit puffed his chest with pride, reassuring himself because he had never done anything that might invite trouble.
---
Once hailed as the pinnacle of achievement and ingenuity, the city now lay in ruins.
Amidst the ruins, faint echoes of the city’s former glory lingered. All that remained of the once-vibrant culture and history that had thrived within the walls.
Located in the center of the Devil Continent, the Wales Region’s capital, where the Devil Race civilization was once based. The only continent governed under one sovereignty. The one that united the entire Devil Race was none other than Devil Emperor Dylan, Sylvia’s father.
"Sigh..." Sylvia picked up a particular piece of debris from the destroyed devil palace.
Everything within the city became a dead civilization that seemed to have been abandoned for several centuries. Purplish black liquid pollution could be seen splattered everywhere, ensuring the surrounding area was a death zone that couldn’t allow any element of life to remain.
"Purify." Elysia cast her magic, purifying the surrounding pollution and any type of contamination.
"Sorry, Erina. I wished to show you a beautiful otherworld, but the situation became like this..." Elysia felt a bit sad.
"It’s not your fault, Ellie. We need to look for Sylvia’s father. Civilization on the Devil Continent isn’t dead yet. The Polluted Sea God still can’t take over any territory other than the eastern seas and random pieces of lands." Erina hugged Elysia’s arm as she tried to reassure the sad heart.
"Mm." Xentia nodded in agreement. She showed her virtual screen to every one of ES Nirvana’s recent scans.
ES Nirvana had already orbited a few minutes ago, and she discovered an advanced fortress city about two thousand miles to the west of their current location.
The elements of life were still safe there, and thousands of devils roamed around in prosperity. The most important thing was the palace. Transcendent Family’s flags were displayed there.
"Huh, wait." He-Dao jumped out of Elysia’s storage pouch after he felt like he could blend in well with this other world.
"You’ve adapted well. But, please refrain from using your divine power. Anything beyond 15th Rank power will ruin the magical layer of world laws, and it will be tiring to repair it." Elysia reminded He-Dao’s group like an instructor to her students.
"Yes, ma’am. We will be careful and won’t use any power beyond 15th Rank." Amy played along and saluted.
"What are we going to do now? It’s just a misbehaving low-rank God and its minions. We can beat them senseless easily." He-Dao pointed his thumb towards the east, feeling they could achieve an easy victory even if they went straight to the final world boss.
"The problem is not that simple because Oceanid can become Oceanids. He split himself into three thousand parts again. We can’t punish him now before measuring his sins." Elysia shook her head.
"Is that so?" He-Dao nodded in understanding.
It would be quite troublesome to fight in the polluted sea, facing three thousand Sea Gods and countless corrupted sea monsters. More importantly, they had to measure the sinner’s sins before passing a divine judgment.
"Then, what are we waiting for? Let’s go to this city." Sylvia pointed at Xentia’s virtual screen with a beaming expression.
She knew the Devil Race wouldn’t fall that easily, especially since her father was the Emperor who led the entire Devil Continent as a unity.
A few moments later, Elysia and Sylvia sneaked into Wales City II, a replacement capital built after the collapse of the original Wales City.
The Devil Emperor Palace stood as dark and majestic to high ambitions. Perched atop a jagged precipice overlooking the entire city, its towering spires, and twisted battlements cast long shadows that stretched across the barren landscape.
It was an infiltration operation carried out by Sylvia and Elysia, but the other family members hid in Elysia’s shadow to overlook the overall situation.
He-Dao accompanied by his Heavenly Agents on his side to follow Elysia’s lead. As for the two attendants, they had to wait in Yuna’s private world.
They took a little detour to gather some information from the random devils’ conversations, but their destination was the Devil Emperor Palace, the place where Devil Emperor Dylan was supposed to be.
