Chapter 448: Honest Confession
Chapter 448: Honest Confession
"A festival?" Elysia felt a bit surprised because she was sure there weren’t any special events in the downtown area when she arrived there a few hours ago.
However, an impromptu event was held all of a sudden.
The air was alive with excitement and anticipation as the festive festival came to life with many colorful stalls and a grand theater stage. The event was held around the bustling town square, offering unique nuances and delights to ignite the spirit of celebration.
Elysia asked Evelyn and Ella, but they were also clueless. It was also the usual date without any special reminder to celebrate anything.
"Should we ask them?" Erina proposed an idea.
"Hm, it’s okay. Would you like to join in the festive festival? Since it’s spring, some fireworks and interesting performances will probably be held as well." Elysia didn’t mind the trivial. Since it was a festive event, she might as well joined the fun with her people.
After a vote, the girls wanted to visit the festival. Only He-Dao refused, but since the ladies wanted to join the fun, he had no other choice but to follow.
This is the first time my voice doesn’t carry a weight. He-Dao shook his head with a sigh, but it didn’t mean he felt dejected.
"Oh, come one, milord. We’re here to have fun, right? Sometimes, you need to learn from Goddess Ely when it comes to enjoying life." Amy tugged her lord’s arm.
"Hmm..." Elysia stared at Amy.
"Oops, I mean, Ely..." Amy covered her mouth and looked down. During their visit, Elysia had asked her not to call people in the group by their divine title.
"Ah, come to think of it, it’s spring now. So, the academy’s enrollment is already around the corner. No wonder I can see so many prospective students in the city." Evelyn tapped her cheek as she looked around.
"Mm, I guess that’s fine. We’ll visit the Holy Cathedral at dusk, to begin with." Ella checked her wristwatch. Her father and everyone probably still had yet to return, so she could join the fun with Elysia and everyone with ease.
"Hmm~" Elysia got an idea. She led her girls towards the festival, leaving He-Dao and the Heavenly Agents slightly behind.
---
After an hour of strolling around the bustling festival streets and buying a few items, a theater event was held to entertain everyone. Without realizing it, night had fallen.
As the night sky erupted in a dazzling display of fireworks, illuminating the bustling festival below with bursts of color and light, two hearts were drawn together in a moment of undeniable magic.
He-Dao looked left and right, but Elysia and everyone went somewhere without him noticing, leaving him and Yuna in the middle of the crowd. They stood by the river, watching the fireworks.
As the final crescendo of fireworks lit up the sky in a dazzling finale, a surge of emotion washed over Yuna’s mind, filling her heart with a longing and yearning that couldn’t be ignored. With each firework’s explosion, her connection to her lord grew stronger until it felt as though their souls were intertwined, bound together by the magic of the moment.
She knew Elysia did something about this, but the atmosphere was set for the right moment.
Her feelings had remained unspoken for too long, hidden beneath layers of doubt and uncertainty. She had tried everything but an honest confession.
As the fireworks reached their zenith, illuminating the night with their radiant glow, the time to cast aside her fears and lay bare the truth that beat within her heart.
With a trembling breath, Yuna and He-Dao looked at each other. Yuna’s eyes flickered with courage and determination. She confessed her feelings in a voice that rang out clear and true above the crowd’s noise and fireworks.
He-Dao just smiled in reply. After a few seconds that felt like hours, He-Dao stroked Yuna’s long white hair and stated his response amidst the fireworks.
Yuna bit her lower lips and looked down. She already knew the answer, but it still pained her heart. Tears flooded her eyes, but she could do nothing about that.
"If, if so, then I will respect your will. It’s fine if you don’t have the time, opportunity, and me in your heart. But, but, after everything is over, please look at me..." Yuna looked up. She tried to smile, but she couldn’t hide her sadness.
It stemmed not only from her deepest heart but also from the sadness over her lord’s suffering. He shouldered it all, and that was the reason for him not to give a thought to anything else. His true self never even left the Heavenly Palace.
Yuna turned around and ran away as she couldn’t let her pitiful appearance be seen by everyone.
Elysia emerged out of thin air with Amy by her side to fly after Yuna. Before leaving, Elysia gave a hand signal to He-Dao, saying she would console Yuna, but she also apologized for being involved in this matter. That would be the last one, and she also respected his decision.
"Sigh, why do they have to ask Elysia’s help? They should already know, we don’t have much time for things like this. Do you really crave romantic stories like in those fairytales, Agent White?" He-Dao crossed his arms and sighed, looking at the night sky full of fireworks with complicated feelings.
Regardless, he felt terrible because he saddened his closest agent, but he could do nothing about it.
---
"How do you feel?" Elysia released Yuna from her arms.
"Forgive me to show such an unsightly sight of me." Yuna wiped her tears and straightened her back.
"It’s fine. It’s normal to feel sad about being rejected after a heartfelt honest confession by the person you love the most. But, you need to understand his tough situation and position." Elysia held Yuna’s hand.
"I fully understand. This incident will not reduce my loyalty. At least... at least, I get clarity and answers." Yuna replied with a self-deprecating smile.
"Lady Nirvana left a deep wound in his heart, and the threat of the Nirvana Abyssal Demon still lurks. We haven’t even talked about Heavenly Demons. He also finds it difficult to engage in other things. His mind is so full of many things. But~" Elysia raised her fingers.
"But?" Amy held Yuna’s arm to comfort her sad sister, but Elysia’s answer intrigued her.
"As for the next one, you can try it again on a new page after we handle the Nirvana Abyssal Demon’s matter. Once everything is over, and peace returns to Quadtria’s Divine World, is it?" Elysia pointed at Yuna and Amy in the face.
’!~’ Elena hummed, knowing it wouldn’t be the last attempt to help Yuna. Elysia promised two more help attempts, and one had been used up. So it would still be one left.
After the Nirvana Abyysal Demon’s matter, Elysia and Elysium Family would stay in Nirvana Realm, thanks to Sera’s matter.
While He-Dao might be heartbroken because Elysia would copy Nirvana’s ’sacrifice’ and farewell, that would be Yuna’s chance to mend his heart and make amend to Yuna’s eons of efforts.
"..." Yuna nodded in reply and apologized for the trouble. She understood it would be the last attempt of supreme help.
After everything was over, her lord might see her in a different light, but she should be prepared for everything. Maybe, one day... she also had to move on.
---
Elysia regrouped with her girls and He-Dao near the holy bridge.
Yuna was so quiet the whole time that she had to summon the two servants to handle the miscellaneous matter, as she wasn’t in the mood to do anything right now.
"Sigh..." He-Dao shook his head as he had expected this outcome. Still, he was pretty relieved because Yuna’s loyalty remained the same.
"Oho~ what a coincidence for us to meet again here, Miss Evelyn, Miss Gabriella, and everyone. Oh-mm?" A muscular man in red outfit raised his hand in greeting. He feigned his ignorance and pretended to be surprised to find the white-haired Elysia.
The beautiful lady with queen-like vibe walked next the muscular gentleman in red. She looked at everyone and stopped at the white-haired Elysia.
"It is our highest honor and gratitude to be graced by your divine presence once again. We know you shall return one day." Amelie, Emperor Arthur’s wife, bowed respectfully.
"Raise your head, Queen Amelie." Elysia replied with a tactical nod.
Honestly, she had no plans to greet the Griffith Royal Family since Evelyn and Ella had already paid them a visit. However, Emperor Arthur and his wife came to greet her instead.
Arthur was healthy and kicking. His region barely received any damage from Polluted Sea God’s minions because it was located right in the heart of the Human Continent.
As for Queen Amelie, it has already been five years since that incident. It was years of torment before Elysia and Rhea came to aid and eliminated the demon inside the queen’s soul. Nobody could tell how many times the queen spiritually got violated, but thankfully, Rhea’s skill to erase bad memories in the queen’s mind had an extraordinary positive impact.
"How are you doing?" Elysia said hello for small talk as she knew Evelyn and Ella had conveyed everything Emperor Arthur needed to know.
"Fufu, you are still as polite as ever. Did you know, our Theo is currently fighting in the east as the Goddess of Magic’s elemental knight ranger." Amelie covered her mouth.
"Hum, Prince Theo is a cyro knight with ice abilities. His control over ice power can deal with many water demons at once easily." Elysia nodded in agreement. As her elemental knight rangers, it was their duty to uphold justice and protect people.
"I was wondering about why it took them so long to arrive. So, it’s because of your doing, brat!" Alexander, the Holy Pope, and Emperor Arthur’s former teacher leaped out of the Holy Catedral with his fist, ready to greet Arthur’s head.
"Yo, calm down, old man! I didn’t come to cause trouble, and also, what do you mean by my doing?" Arthur caught Alexander’s fist with all his might, knowing Alexander wished to beat him for real.
"Hmph, pretending to be ignorant when everything is clear." Alexander snorted sarcastically.
The clash between two Emperor-level people ended one second later. Alexander immediately knelt down, but Elysia prevented him. Thus, he clasped his hand and bowed to pay his respect sincerely, conveying his joy at the Goddesses’ return to Vrelenia.
"I don’t think this is the right place to talk, Grandpa Alexander." Elysia looked around, and they had already attracted a lot of attention.
Alexander widened his eyes in shock. Elysia still called him Grandpa like five years ago, even though she already ascended to godhood. He smiled with honor and invited everyone to visit the Holy Cathedral’s inner chamber.
