Chapter 460 - 6th Elemental Knight Ranger
Chapter 460 - 6th Elemental Knight Ranger
Billie Mitchell, Evelyn’s big brother had experienced many hardships and setbacks in life. Due to the past kidnapping incident when he was still a kid, he trained diligently to the best of his ability to prevent such a thing from happening again.
He would never allow his loved ones to suffer any mishap and misfortune, and for that, he required more power, the strength to safeguard what he wished to protect.
For that reason, after graduating from the academy, he joined the Mage Association founded by his mother and became a splendid mage knight, a warrior with high magical capabilities.
He was still a newbie in the elite squad, but recently, his squad received an assignment on the southeastern border. The Aresrith City was a first line of defense in the southeast, a formidable fortress to prevent the monsters from approaching human territory.
Some time ago, he received the news regarding his little sister returning home with the entire divine group. He conveyed his deepest gratitude in his heart because he knew Evelyn was still alive somewhere.
The Ruvoid perished, and the divine group led by Elysia managed to save the world. However, peace couldn’t be achieved just like that even though the world was united under the World Alliance.
Several new threats emerged one year after the divine group disappeared from the world. A great dungeon appeared every year, and dozens of mysterious ruins emerged out of nowhere.
Regardless of anything, the current impending threat was the Polluted Sea God, including her clones and minions. The world-class dangerous threat, but none of the supreme leaders wished to resolve this matter once and for all.
"Is that battle over? Who fought in the corrupted forest? That destructive moves in the sky was far more powerful than the clashes between Emperors." The captain of the elite team used his magic binoculars to observe the situation at the border.
The distance from the fortress city to the corrupted forest was only ten miles, separated by a small but deep ravine.
"Captain, thousands of demonic beasts and mutated monsters from the east and west are heading towards this fortress city!" The scout descended from the sky, reporting the situation with blatant urgency.
"What?!" The captain was shocked.
"Monsters are approaching in droves from the west and east!" The scout repeated his report.
"You don’t need to repeat your report. What are you doing there? Quickly issue a level 4 danger alert and announce to everyone to prepare to face the approaching monsters!" The captain called to the other soldiers to prepare themselves.
The major threat from the corrupted forest of the southeast could be put aside for now, thanks to the involvement of mysterious experts. However, the monster invasion still came regardless.
"Those monsters are probably scared because of the previous devastating blast in the sky." Billie looked up at the southeast sky with several assumptions in his mind.
Everyone immediately prepared themselves to face the approaching monsters. As the first bastion of defense, no monsters would be allowed to go past their guard post, and that was what they were limited to doing.
Half an hour passed, and thousands of monsters arrived in droves. They looked like migrating animals, but fear was evident in their very essence as if they were running from something terrifying.
"Prince, are you afraid? This is your first experience fighting thousands of monsters from the fortress." The captain asked with concern.
"Worry not, captain. My father will just grumble because I suddenly can’t return." Billie received another request to go home immediately, but he couldn’t just leave his comrades behind when the battle against the monsters was about to break out.
The captain was stunned for a second. "Huh? Emperor asked you to return? Then, you need to answer his summons as soon as possible. The major task is completed by those mysterious powerful experts. We can handle those monsters just fine."
"No, captain. This is our battle. No knights are permitted to flee the battle, leaving their comrades behind." Billie shook her head and put on her head protector.
As a mage knight, he wore light armor and high-level magic weaponry for both close combat and long-range battle. Even though he was the youngest and could be considered the weakest in the elite squad, he did not flinch and was ready to jump into battle at any time.
"Nah, that’s my prince. But, never mention my name if the Emperor scolds you, remember?" The captain gave a thumbs up.
"Ha ha ha." Billie laughed, but his expression immediately turned solemn because the monsters would enter the bombardment zone.
At that moment, he got goosebumps for no particular reason. It was a similar sense to what he got when his parents talked about him behind his back, especially regarding matchmaking or something.
A few minutes later, dozens of magic cannons were already prepared on the city walls, and hundreds of soldiers were already on standby, waiting for orders to fire.
"Well, there are quite a lot of them." Evelyn crossed her arms, staring at the thousands of monsters approaching.
"Hum." Billie nodded in agreement. He took out his magic sniper rifle, aiming at one of the big monsters. He wanted to cause panic among the monster horde and break up the monster formation.
It took him a few seconds to realize a girl had appeared next to him. He was around the command spot, and it was just him and the captain a few seconds ago!
"!!!" Billie gasped in surprise and jumped aside. He couldn’t detect this girl’s arrival, and it alerted him.
"Your brother can’t recognize you, Eve?" Elysia emerged out of thin air. Her light giggle chimed like a sweet melody.
"???" Billie and the captain were wide-eyed in shock.
The alluring blonde-haired girl in lightning-purple battledress looked like a high-level mage. Her emerald green eyes sparkled with a deep purple hue occasionally due to electrical sparks around her body.
And the newly arrived lovely black-haired girl truly emerged out of thin air! Her presence exuded the sacred aura typical of a holy maiden, but she also held the mysterious aura that would put anyone at ease, and also the huge urge to protect her, especially her gentle smile.
"What can I do? He is a pretty blockhead, and I’m all grown up now. Naturally, he can’t recognize us." Evelyn shrugged her shoulders and extinguished her electric sparks.
She was also shocked by his brother’s sudden movement, and those electric sparks appeared by reflex.
"Billie Mitchell... I’ve heard your noble purpose and measure your pure intention. Are you willing to grasp the duty to protect the world and people?" Elysia opened her palm, making an offer.
"?!" Billie had yet to recover from the shock.
The first one, he was shocked because someone could arrive right beside him unnoticed, then his second shock, because he realized the girl before him, was none other than Evelyn, his little sister!
She had grown into a beautiful fine lady, and also a cool lightning mage! And then, a holy maiden emerged out of thin air. It took him several seconds to realize this holy maiden was actually Goddess Elysia in her mortal form!
Goddess Elysia came to offer him an opportunity. The question was whether he could shoulder the responsibility and duty as the protector.
In response, he smiled faintly and knelt, conveying his willingness to shoulder the duty as the protector. "I will be your sword. I will be your shield. I will defend until my last breath. This vow I swear, to be your weapon as long as I live."
"You’re the chosen knight who holds the power to protect. Elemental earth power shall be bestowed upon you. Billie Mitchell, I appoint you as the 6th elemental knight ranger who holds the power of geo." Elysia stretched out her hand and embedded the ball-like magic item into Billie’s waist.
The ball unfolded like a mechanical device, forming a belt.
Billie stood at the brink of an extraordinary transformation. As he channeled the raw power of the earth, he morphed into a brown ranger, one of the legendary elemental knights.
The 6th elemental knight ranger with earth elemental power, known as geo. The guardian of the land whose strength was as unyielding as the stone beneath his feet.
The ground beneath him began to tremble, and the air was filled with a low, resonant hum. Cracks appeared in the stones around him, from which tendrils of golden-brown light emerged, wrapping around his limbs and torso. The light pulsed with the rhythm of the earth, syncing with his heartbeat as the transformation occurred.
His skin began to harden and took the texture of rugged stone. His muscles grew more defined and powerful. Plates of earthen armor formed all over his body. Each piece was etched with intricate runes and patterns that speak of ancient knowledge and elemental mastery. His arms and legs were encased in gauntlets and greaves of solid rock. His head was encased in a helmet, resembling an earth dragon’s head.
In his hand, the weapons formed from the stones beneath him. A sharp long sword and mighty shield. They resonated with elemental energy, ready to channel the strength of the earth into every strike.
As the transformation was completed, his eyes opened, now glowing with a deep, earthy hue. He felt a profound connection to the land around him, sensing every tremor and shift in the ground. His senses were heightened, his strength amplified, and his resolve unbreakable.
"..." Billie was in an enlightened state. Thousands of information about his new power were registered directly into his mind.
After he regained his composure, he checked his body. His sniper rifle and other items were missing, but his current appearance was so cool and looked strong! It was as if he could effortlessly destroy a gigantic boulder with a simple punch.
"How about you test your new abilities now? Repel them back to where they came from." Elysia pointed to the approaching monsters.
"Your wish is my command." Billie replied with a polite knight salute before jumping down from the high city wall.
"Hey, where are you going?! We’re going to bombard them and you’re going to get hit!" The captain shouted loudly. He still hadn’t recovered from both shock and awe, but the prince’s sudden move scared him.
"Let him handle the rest. Those monsters are just scared, without the slightest intention of invading human territory. Let them go back to where they came from." Elysia grasped her hand and watched her newly appointed elemental knight ranger with interest.
