My Goddess is Good at Pretending

Chapter 461: Geo Power

Chapter 461: Geo Power

The air was thick with tension as thousands of monstrous invaders approached the sturdy city walls. As the first wave of monsters entered the bombardment zone, a figure jumped down from the city wall, ready to defend with the power of the earth.

The defender squad’s captain couldn’t send his command to open fire to bombard the monsters because Goddess Elysia, Princess Evelyn, and Emperor Kevin were there.

Billie, the newly graduated prince and also the newbie in the elite squad received the Goddess’ favor and blessing to become her knight. As the knight chosen by a Goddess, Billie had to prove his determination to fulfill his duty as the protector. Thus, his trial of strength to repel thousands of monsters began.

A sea of grotesque creatures surged toward the fortress city. Their roars echoed through the air, sending blatant intimidation. From towering ogres to deadly chimeras, those monsters approached like a sweep, ready to level the fortress city to the ground. The ground trembled under the weight of their numbers, and the air was thick with the acrid smell of their foul breath.

As the defenders braced themselves for the onslaught, a rumble echoed through the earth, and the ground beneath the monsters began to shift. The geo elemental knight, the brown ranger, stood his ground. His armor, shimmering with the hues of the earth, glinted in the dying light of the day as he raised his geo blade high.

The brown ranger charged into the fray, sending tremors through the ground that knocked the monsters off balance. His geo blade cleaved through their ranks with ease. Each strike was imbued with the raw power of the earth.

Boulders rose from the ground at his command, crashing into the enemy with devastating force, while the ground beneath him hardened into impenetrable stone, shielding him from their attacks.

As the battle raged on, the brown ranger’s presence turned the tide. The defenders of the city inspired by his courage and strength fought with renewed vigor. Archers loosed volleys of arrows that found their marks with deadly precision, while mages summoned elemental forces to aid in the defense.

With a deep breath, Billie summoned the full power of the earth. His body glowed with an intense, golden-brown light. The ground erupted, lifting him high into the air as he prepared to deliver the final, decisive blow.

With a powerful leap, he descended upon the horde of monsters. His geo shield flashed with elemental fury. The impact was cataclysmic as a burst of light and energy shattered the ground beneath the monster, sending shockwaves through the battlefield.

An earthquake occurred, shaking the entire battlefield. Dozens of tall earthen walls rose up, creating a concave wall that directed the monsters to go back the way they came.

The earthquake caused many monsters to fall. The vibration and impact destroyed their morale and initial intentions, knowing they could not break through the thick earthen walls and challenge the strength of the brown ranger’s might. Therefore, they fled in fear towards the southeast, not knowing it was the same direction from which they had come.

As the dust settled, the fortress city stood victorious.

Billie, the brown ranger, surveyed the battlefield. His heart filled with satisfaction. The city had been saved, its people protected, and the monsters repelled.

The dead monsters were zero, causing only a few injured ones due to the impact and barrages from the city wall. They managed to inflict fear on the monster hordes.

With a final nod of honor, respect, and gratitude to Goddess Elysia, the geo elemental knight de-materialized his geo armor and weapons.

At that moment, the legend of the 6th geo elemental knight, the brown ranger, was born and cemented in the people’s hearts and minds.

Billie leaped back to the top of the city wall to convey his regard to his sister, parents, and the one who blessed him with the power to protect.

"Well done, Bill." Evelyn gave a thumbs up.

"It’s not worth mentioning. It’s all thanks to the blessings and power bestowed upon me. From now onward, I am the geo elemental knight." Billie knelt before Elysia with great respect and gratitude.

"We expect a lot from you. You should join the Temple of Magic and get acquainted with the other five elemental knights. They are your comrades in arms." Elysia patted Billie’s shoulder.

"As your wish, milady." Billie replied with a knight salute.

Emperor Kevin and his wife soon took turns to congratulate their son. Billie received Goddess Elysia’s favor, and his future would be so bright.

Elapsed from the responsibility Billie had to shoulder, he would become one of the influential figures who would change the world for the better in the future.

When the soldiers their an easy victory, Elysia brought her people and Evelyn’s family back to the palace.

"We need to talk about something crucial now. It’s related to the dungeons." Lifa put everything together and brought up the topics that concerned her most.

Before she would start the investigation at a later date, she had to know the human views regarding those dungeons.

"The great dungeons, huh... I guess, you need to know the real situation." Kevin took a deep breath and sat on his throne. He then shared the information with the divine group.

The great dungeon first appeared on the Human Continent four years ago, and it was heavily guarded by the holy central region. It might look like the Holy Church and Emperor Arthur monopolized it, but they actually partially sealed that dungeon from undesirable things.

A new great dungeon and dozens of ancient ruins emerged to the surface every year. Even though four years had passed since the appearance of the first great dungeon, none of the four great dungeons had been successfully cleared.

The great dungeon on the Human Continent was located near the eastern border between Aeddoterra Kingdom and Nachezan Kingdom. Even though the strongest human alive and dozens of elites tried to venture deep into the dungeon, they could only clear half of the dungeon area.

"This great dungeon comes with the codename ’Misty’ because of its thick mist. For now, I and the other Emperors take advantage of that dungeon as a spot for advanced training and treasure hunting. Ah, the magic academy also uses that dungeon’s first ten floors for student training." Kevin took a deep breath and exhaled slowly.

"Misty Great Dungeon... So, the large number of ancient treasures comes from treasure hunting, huh. The magic academy’s private realm... did it come from that grand dungeon?" Nell put her hand to her chin, deep in thought as she tried to recall the God who had fallen in the Human Continent.

"Yes. Pope Alexander... I mean, Ella, your grandfather knows much more than me. You can inquire more information from him because he is the only Emperor-level human who personally explored that place." Kevin cleared his throat as he wished to throw the trouble away from him.

"Mm, alright. Thank you for your information, Emperor Kevin." Ella nodded in understanding.

"Well, the grand meeting will take place tomorrow morning. This makes me a bit excited and tense because we will be raiding a God." Kevin rubbed his palms together, imagining the loot he could gain from the operation.

"Please behave yourself. You are in the Goddesses’ presence." Isabelle nudged her husband, feeling a bit uncomfortable.

"Hmm... We need to take a step at a time. We will find out more about these dungeons and ruins after the world boss raid." Elysia put her hands together, closing the case.

Lifa, Nell, and Rhea agreed with that. They would be busy until the issues regarding the Polluted Sea God and the missing Sea God were resolved.

Evelyn chatted with her big brother. Her brother looked cool and fierce in his geo battlesuit, but he was still as humble and honest as she could remember.

"We will join the fun at Magic Academy’s enrollment event." Evelyn informed her brother casually.

"Magic Academy’s enrollment event, you say? Hm, then is rather complicated..." Billie thought about it, and it felt really ridiculous to have so many high-level powerhouses to play as students.

However, he would never forbade his sister and her friends for fun. Thus, he whispered a piece of information. "Let me give you a little additional information. The Misty Great Dungeon is a tower with many floors. The first ten floors are the easiest. They used it for new students to gain experience against the spawned magical monsters. But, the highest level squad led by Pope Alexander only managed to climb up to the 57th floor."

"Oh~ That’s no problem. We’ll just join the fun and greet the God Spirit if it’s there. Did you know? The two God Spirits in the Sky Library also came from great dungeons. Those places were sealed and undiscovered by anyone until we cleared them. Those great dungeons are in the Sky Library. Anyway, what about the other three great dungeons?" Evelyn flapped her hand to reassure her brother.

"Hm, alright then. Misty is a tower and a puzzle. One on Devil Continent comes with the codename Maze, the labyrinth in the abyss. I heard that the Evil God once explored it and gave up halfway." Billie tried to remember and spilled whatever he knew.

"Oh~ That brawn man obviously can’t clear labyrinths and mazes, let alone complicated puzzles. Then, what about the other two?" Evelyn chuckled, but her interest peaked.

"I don’t know much about the other two, but one is on the northern border between the Elven Continent and the Fairy Continent. The last one appeared last year in the northwestern region, near the border between the Beast Continent and the Beastkin Continent." Billie rubbed his head.

Because the distance of the other two great dungeons to the Human Continent was too far, he barely knew anything about them. He only heard it from rumors and news.

At that time, Elysia was hanging out with her Goddess sisters. He-Dao and his agents also joined the discussion. They updated their event schedule in Vrelenia and rearranged their priorities.

"..." He-Dao had nothing to say when looking at the schedule of events. Elysia truly wished to participate in the academy enrollment event for fun. They would visit the Misty Great Dungeon under that pretext!

"Master, may I ask you one thing?" Rhea tugged the hem of Elysia’s sleeve.

"Yes, feel free to ask me anything, Rhea." Elysia put down her notebook and paid attention to the Goddess of Nature next to her.

"Why did you grant Evelyn’s brother power when you left none for Fran and Rosie? You even crafted it specifically for him. That’s different from those five experimental products." Rhea expressed her concern.

"Hmm, I also left an opportunity for Rosie and Fran. They are not ready now. When the time comes, my gift will come to them and ask whether they need the power. As for those five experimental products... I will refine and upgrade them soon." Elysia responded with a tender smile.

She would visit her five elemental knight rangers soon, and she would upgrade them. After all, they were the Temple of Magic’s knight rangers with noble causes to protect the world.

"I see." Rhea nodded in understanding. Her master treated Reinhard Family more than she expected.
