My Goddess is Good at Pretending

Chapter 477: The Final Boss isn’t Available

Chapter 477: The Final Boss isn’t Available

An eel spirit threw everything in the room into his mouth anxiously and hastily. He then put down his wizard hat and sat in the master seat while staring at a particular door as if he were waiting for someone to arrive.

Time was ticking so slowly somehow. He served as the dungeon’s spirit guardian, and he was aware that an exploration group managed to arrive on the 57th floor, the study hall and library.

The dungeon master wasn’t present to grant the last trial. He could select the best challenger in the group if necessary and grant a reward accordingly. Unfortunately, this group was not just random people. Not even the previous elite team led by the Holy Pope could be compared!

Two dangerous people were approaching at a steady speed. He was aware of that too, but he had nowhere to run.

The 58th floor was used as the throne hall, and the dungeon master’s personal room awaited on the 59th floor. As for the 60th floor and above, the dungeon master had yet to create anything there. It was simply the empty floors.

The final boss floor’s music somehow rang in the eel spirit’s mind. When the door opened, the eel spirit tried his best to look like a calm gentleman.

"He’s not here." Lifa heaved a subtle sigh. Rhea’s prediction was proven correct.

"Too bad. But, is this eel butler the one spying on us? He’s the sleek, squishy thingy that Zera almost caught, right?" Nell looked around, but the room was pretty plain and boring.

"Welcome to the final floor of the Misty Great Dungeon, challengers." The eel spirit welcomed the two Goddesses, but once his eyes came into contact with them, a chill ran through his body.

The newly arrived exploration group wasn’t just anyone. It was none other than the divine group, consisting of several divine beings. And, among them was present a supreme nightmare that his lord, the dungeon master, feared the most!

"We share no tale. Why are you so frightened by us? We came with good intentions. Say, where is he now?" Lifa averted her gaze. She held no good chemistry regarding the God of Trade, but this eel spirit was a new guardian spirit.

"Gulp, no. The dungeon master left the great dungeon and never returned again three years ago. He should be in his private world by now..." The eel spirit gulped and wiped his non-existent sweat. It truly put a huge spiritual pressure just to stand before the ’nightmare’.

"So, he left without informing his people who guard his little hidden treasury? Did he abandon them?" Lifa looked around.

The entire room was empty to be called the boss room. There was no final dungeon boss. Due to the dungeon master’s absence, the greatest reward that explorers could obtain would be the knowledge on the 57th floor.

"No, the dungeon master just wants to explore the world and find a way to recover... He will return one day." The eel spirit looked at the ground.

"So, he left as a divine spirit, the soul remnant?" Nell raised her eyebrows.

"..." The eel spirit couldn’t answer that.

"Alright. We will pay him a visit in his private world at the magic academy soon. Do you want to come with us?" Lifa nodded in understanding.

"Lady, what... what would you possibly do to the dungeon master when you find him?" The eel spirit gasped in shock, but he still asked, trying not to stutter in his speech.

"A ginseng lady from Misty Garden asked us to help him out, but who knows? He might not need our help at all." Lifa turned around and waved her hand.

"Hum, bye! We’ll tell him to return to his dungeon when we meet. You may continue your guard duty, eel butler. Oh, but, can we claim our reward for clearing the dungeon? You got no final boss prepared, but we should get some compensation, right?" Nell stretched out her hand, asking for something with a big smile.

"..." The eel spirit was speechless. The one before him was a divine being. She and the divine group looted almost every prepared treasure chest, but this little angel-like fairy still wanted to squeeze him dry.

Regardless, he handed over the well-deserved reward, but only two items. In return, he asked everyone to never spill anything related to the Vault of Knowledge, Misty Garden, and the floor above 57th to anyone, especially outsiders that might bring harm.

"Hehe, we won’t spill anything to ’anyone’~" Nell waved her hand and flew away.

Pope Alexander and his people also had to promise the same thing, but Ella still received the information nonetheless. The reason was simple, and it was because they weren’t just anyone, let alone harmful outsiders.

---

Lifa returned to Elysia’s side and reported what she encountered on the upper floor. The Misty Great Dungeon was a half-finished artifact, and what awaited on the upper floor was apparently the real trial that would be performed by the God of Trade himself.

Unfortunately, he was absent. His current destination should be in the magic academy’s private world.

"Then, our objective here has been achieved." Elysia nodded in reply.

"Ugh, we will start over as a toddler with no parent? I want some warmth from a mother..." Sky God Spirit fiddled with a virtual screen in his hand.

He had to design his future body, but the age was limited to a seven-year-old boy!

"Hmm... you may, but we shall seal your memory. Your ’pervert’ memory will only awaken once you reach adulthood. Also, it’s not a toddler, but a preschooler child. You have a 9-year head start to cultivate the basic foundation about magic with your intact divine spirit." Rhea rolled her eyes as she knew Sky God Spirit had something else in mind.

"Well, this is the better one than reborn. You should be reborn if that’s your wish. However, who knows when you will be born. It could be this year, or maybe a hundred years from now. I don’t like the attachment of a family. The so-called parent sucks. They will try to exploit and order you around as they wish." Ice God Spirit designed his future body with great enthusiasm.

From hair, eyes, skin color, head shape, and even deeper things like blood type, spiritual roots, and more. He would create a better version of himself in his previous life!

Unlike Sky God Spirit, his true self perished in the decisive war in the previous era. The self-sacrifice, a demise to bring down a Ruvoid God. Nothing went to the circle of reincarnation, leaving only a fragment of his soul remnant. So, he only had to prioritize nothing but his well-being.

"Wait, what?" Sky God Spirit widened his eyes in shock.

As Rhea would take his virtual screen, he hugged it tightly and took a safe distance from the Nature Goddess.

"What? Don’t you still want to stay on the reborn plan?" Rhea replied with a faint smile.

"No, it’s nothing. I can’t let myself get lost and wait that long. No one knows what the other me can do during that period." Sky God Spirit thought about his other self.

He would transcend beyond that person and ascend to godhood to claim the title of True Sky God. That guy could stay on Earth, and he would grab his prosperity in Vrelenia after beating that guy half to death.

"Can we visit the Misty Garden Misstress before we leave?" Lifa pulled the hem of Elysia’s sleeve.

Elysia looked at the timer. They cleared the great dungeon in just less than a day. The sun should be rising in an hour or two outside, and they weren’t in a rush to visit the magic academy either.

Her disciples and Xentia also finished scanning the books and scrolls in the Vault of Knowledge to enrich ES Nirvana’s database. Therefore, they left the library and visited the garden at the canyon’s headwater on the 56th floor.

---

"He has left to the outside world with that group of humans, huh..." Misty Garden Misstress sighed after getting news from Lifa.

"We initially thought he gifted his private world to the academy’s principal based on a deal agreement, but it seems he had other intentions. Currently, he may be serving as the academy’s superintendent while spreading his legacies to the young seedlings across the continent who gather at the academy while recovering himself for a revival. I ask you, do you want to come to meet him with us?" Lifa stated her intention clearly.

"Thank you for letting me know about this, your honor. However, I don’t think that’s good. Let him come to see me. He needs to pay the debt over these millennia. I also can’t leave behind these children." Misty Garden Misstress replied with a regretful sigh.

"Alright. He owed you a lot, huh... Then, we shall bid our farewell." Lifa nodded in understanding and left.

"..." Elysia looked around.

The plants in the garden were top-tier elixirs with ages of tens of thousands of years, and some reached over a hundred thousand years. However, they were still considered children by the Misty Garden Mistress. If the God of Trade didn’t want them, she would gladly welcome them to her garden!

"Let’s leave." Lifa came out of the garden and grabbed Elysia’s hand. She covered everyone with a magic circle, teleporting them back to the dungeon’s exit gate.

*Zap*

The entire group vanished from the Misty Garden, and silence returned to envelop the surroundings.

"You’ve finally found your true home and family, huh... Even the Lady Nature managed to find her happiness. The peaceful world with no Ruvoid. I wish to see it one day, but the time isn’t ripe yet." The Misty Garden Misstress muttered softly. She was lost in thought for a few seconds before burying herself in the ground.
