Chapter 484: The God of Trade
Chapter 484: The God of Trade
The Tempest Realm, the private world belonging to the God of Trade, Timus. He was currently located on a floating island at the end of the world.
The island hovered high above the sea, suspended in the sky by ancient magic. It was a lush, verdant place, with forests, waterfalls, and meadows that seemed untouched by time. Surrounding the island was a constant, gentle whirlwind, a protective barrier that shimmered with ethereal energy.
At the heart of the island stood the palace full of pure wind elements. The structure seemed to glow with an inner light, reflecting the magical energy that kept the island afloat.
Elysia used Gaia’s divinity to locate the target. She cast a series of spells to navigate through the sky and approached the whirlwind. As her group neared the barrier, she cast a nature magic. The winds parted slightly, allowing them entry as if recognizing their sincere intent.
Elysia raised her finger, pointing at the palace. She teleported her group to the inner area without further ado.
The palace courtyard was a vast, open space with fountains that flowed with sparkling water and gardens filled with rare, magical plants. Statues of legendary figures from ancient times stood guard, their eyes seeming to follow the visitors.
Entering the palace, they found themselves in the grand hall. A magnificent room with high ceilings, ornate chandeliers, and walls lined with tapestries depicting epic tales of heroism and magic. The floor was made of polished marble, reflecting the light and adding to the hall’s splendor.
As they explored further, the group encountered magical guardians. The creatures made of light and shadow, were tasked with protecting the palace. These beings, though formidable, recognized the visitors’ peaceful intentions and allowed them to pass.
The pinnacle of their exploration was the throne room where an ancient throne carved from a single piece of crystal stood. The throne was empty, but the room was filled with an aura of power and mystery.
Lifa wore a veil and came out of the Nature Realm. Rhea, Nell, Fortuna, and Gaia also emerged from the realm portal, followed by two little boys.
"Someone was here a few hours ago." He-Dao inspected the throne more closely.
"A giant aquarium?" Lifa murmured under her breath as she went towards the backdoor.
She opened the door and arrived at a giant aquarium room. A seal was lying on its stomach lazily by the pool with its flippers on its bloated belly.
<| Lv. 208 | Timus | God of Trade | Male (N/A) |>
<| Talent: 5 Stars | UR |>
"???" Elysia blinked her eyes in wonder. She never expected it, but it couldn’t be wrong. The status screen told her this fat seal was Timus!
Timus was cultivating in recovery mode, unaware of his surroundings beyond the meter radius.
When Elysia was about to share her discovery with her Goddess sisters, the side door opened. A man in a blue grand robe entered the hall and sat on the throne.
"Who would have thought that we would have some unexpected guests. We have placed countless traps, barriers, and even guardians... however, how you can still arrive at the innermost area unnoticed?" The blue-robed man looked at the back door with a menacing glare.
"Undead? No, it’s a human puppet. You’re definitely not the God of Trade. Who are you?" Rhea stepped forward to cover her master.
"You are the intruders, and yet, you still have the balls to question the host?" The blue-robed man raised his eyebrow.
<| Lv. 131 | Ariya Howard | Elemental Great Master | Male (298) |>
<| Talent: 4 Stars | SSR |>
Elysia checked the blue-robed man’s status screen. There was nothing wrong with it. His strength was at Great Master. However, he had no soul, only an empty vessel known as the human puppet from the dead, but with an artificial spirit.
Someone was controlling this human puppet from somewhere, or perhaps, he had to guard the throne with a programmed self-intelligence.
"A dead sinner, assigned to guard the door." Fortuna felt a bit disgusted as she could clearly see the man’s great sins radiated throughout his body.
"You’re not him." Lifa inspected the blue-robed man once and scanned the palace with her divinity.
Among all the creatures present, whether living or dead, tangible or intangible, she couldn’t find the God of Trade’s divine aura.
"Fufu, why haven’t you told everyone yet? It’s the fat seal. He is him, but no aura radiates out from his sleeping spot. We need to approach him to discover the truth." Elena couldn’t help but laugh in amusement. She hugged Elysia from behind, floating like a jolly spirit, and pointed towards the sleeping seal by the pool.
"That’s him? Hmm, no wonder. He is in front of us. He got a new body, but why did he take that form?" Lifa couldn’t understand why, but she would discover everything soon.
"Wait. He’s in deep recovery meditation. Wouldn’t it have undesirable effects if you woke him up now?" Elysia grabbed Lifa’s arm.
"I’m wearing a divine veil. Rest assured. I know what to do." Lifa tapped Elysia’s hand and answered in a soft tone of reassurance.
"Alright then." Elysia let go of Lifa’s arm, and Lifa leaped to the small beach by the pool.
"Am I being ignored?" The blue-robed man frowned, feeling offended. However, he didn’t dare to do anything because the intruders held unmeasurable powers, but they did not emit any malice.
Lifa landed on the surface of the pool and walked without causing a ripple in the water. She took out a wooden branch and approached the sleeping seal.
"..." The seal sensed something, but he remained asleep, tapping his stomach and moving to a more comfortable sleeping spot.
However, a wooden branch somehow poked his cheek several times. He smacked it away, but it kept poking him from his cheek to his stomach.
It took him several seconds to realize that someone approached him unnoticed.
Timus opened his eyes wide and rolled to a safe distance, exploding in fury. "How dare you to disturb my sleep meditation!"
"This is a fresh fish." Lifa threw a black fish from the misty river.
"Ow, ow, ow!" Thymus flapped his flippers and caught the fish with his jaws. His animal urge and hunger took over. He ate the fish gladly, but he soon realized that the other party was playing with him. "How dare you treat me like an animal! Are you bored of life, woman?! Who are you, and how did you get to this forbidden place?!"
"But, you are a seal and your food is fish." Lifa tilted her head slightly.
"Are you mocking me? I will catch you and discipline you, woman. I happen to need a maid!" Timus leaped with an acrobatic jump, releasing several water-binding techniques.
"You still seem confused because you just woke up. Let me refresh your mind." Lifa swung her hand in a graceful motion, breaking the water bindings. She then raised a twig and smacked the seal that was about to pounce her.
*Bam!*
Timus received a heavy smack right to his cheek and splashed into the pool. He then emerged to the surface while holding his swollen cheek. "Ouch, what’s wrong with you?!"
"Are you sober?" Lifa tapped her twig.
"!!!" Timus sensed the terrifying presence from the veiled green beauty before his eyes. It reminded him of the constant nightmare that often came to him in his sleep for eons. Green, strong, overbearing, and twig...
Timus paled in that instant and gulped his saliva. The one he least wanted to meet somehow appeared before him. She survived the galactic blast after saving the world. She came to claim his life! "How are you still alive? I, I thought you were dead."
"Oh, do you wish me to perish instead?" Lifa raised her twig again.
"Ah, no! No more! Ouch, argh!" Timus writhed like he received countless beatings, screaming in pain. It stemmed from his nightmare and trauma, but Lifa hadn’t even done anything yet.
"There’s something wrong with him." Elena scratched her head.
Elysia found it was amusing, but she didn’t express it. She nodded and asked someone to do something. It was bad to let Lifa do it. "He’s so afraid of Lifa. Please help him out. Nothing can be done if his response is so big just because of Lifa’s presence."
"Allow me to bring him out for talk." Ice God manifested ice steps and climbed into the pool. He created the ice path and kicked the crazed seal. "Long time no see, old friend. Who would have thought that you would choose to be a seal in this life."
"Even a toddler wants to bully me?! Eh, wait. This kind of cold tone and ice... are you Aether? Blah, I mean Ice God?" Timus rubbed his back in anger, but it subsided quickly. It didn’t hurt, and the freezing cold that assaulted him reminded him of the cold guy, his old friend.
"You don’t need to worry about that custom anymore. The Ruvoid is no more. We’re here to discuss a few things with you. Besides the Goddesses, we also came with Sorush." Aether pointed his thumb backward.
"Haha, Sorush! Damn, you are also a toddler? Poor you because you need to start over from scratch." Timus leaped out of the pool, and fled from the nightmare to greet his old friend.
"Damn seal. Get away from me! You’re so heavy!" Sorush tried to evade, but he still got squashed by the fat seal.
"Hmm..." Lifa returned to Elysia’s side and crossed her arms.
Timus immediately broke into a cold sweat and became frightened when he realized the Goddess of Nature was also present. There was also the Goddess of Blessings, but she couldn’t recognize the rest.
"What do you want from me?" Timus braced himself to ask.
