Chapter 496: Venture Deeper into the Corrupted Sea
Chapter 496: Venture Deeper into the Corrupted Sea
"Do you think we can put up a significant resistance against the water demons in a sea battle? This is their domain, not our land, and we can’t fly with magic items forever."
"But, can’t we still unleash long-range magic? Archers and mages can at least shine."
"Unless you are at Spirit-level or above, you will only be a burden in the battle. We are only here to broaden our horizon, not fight against the demons."
"Look at those gigantic beasts and the scale of the battle. It’s not a fight we can interfere in. The great war between the hegemons is on a continental scale."
A small argument occurred between the students. On the one hand, they hoped to contribute to receiving the Goddesses’ favors and blessings. And on the other hand, they realized that they were still far from worthy of participating.
Instead of contributing, they could die a meaningless death amidst the onslaught of large-scale destruction.
"..." Milena remained silent, watching the great war in the distance with a profound understanding.
The world united to overcome the common adversary under the Goddesses’ guidance. The enemy was a corrupted God who had lost all of one’s rationality, only wanting to take over and destroy the world.
Each faction dispatched its best combatants and military powers, including their god-slaying weapons of mass destruction.
"Please be quiet, students. This is a world boss raid with a God as the target. Use your time to witness the might that can change the world and history." Sorush sent a voice transmission to the students to avoid further debate.
Since the Sky Library’s executive had spoken, the students closed their mouths, no longer arguing. The magic academy’s students had no idea where the voice came from. Still, they were wise enough to realize it was the high-ranking superior. None of the Sky Library’s students, known as the best chosen ones from all over the world, dared to defy his words.
---
High above the clouds, the mothership-class spaceship known as the apex dreadnought, the colossal, city-sized behemoth hovered in the planet’s orbit.
ES Nirvana was constructed from a rare, almost indestructible alloy called Eternium. The ship’s exterior glistened with a dark, metallic sheen that reflected the light of distant stars. Its surface was adorned with intricate patterns of glowing circuitry, pulsating with blue energy that hinted at the immense power contained within.
Towering spires rose from the ship’s surface, each housing powerful energy cannons and advanced sensor arrays. A shimmering, translucent energy shield enveloped the entire vessel.
Massive docking bays lined the lower sections of the ship, each large enough to accommodate fleets of smaller spacecraft. The bays opened like giant maws, ready to deploy swarms of fighter ships, drones, and mechs.
At the heart of the mothership lay the central command hub. A vast, circular chamber filled with advanced holographic displays and control panels. The hub’s centerpiece was a large, transparent sphere displaying a real-time, three-dimensional map of the surrounding space and planetary systems.
Elysia checked the latest situation in the eastern ocean. Due to Timus’ proposal as the scout, her Goddess sisters had to wait for his return first.
They held almost no useful information regarding the Polluted Sea God. Timus would greatly help them if he could locate their primary target’s real body.
The clashes in the ocean below were heated, but it was still far from the climax. Strangely, only a handful of the God-tier water demon avatars made their moves even though Wales constantly destroyed the underwater defensive formation with those spiraling water towers that sucked the underwater monsters upwards.
"Even with everyone’s efforts, they still haven’t managed to kill the God-tier avatar." Elena commented after seeing the red dots, indicating the enemies above Emperor-level, still numbering three hundred.
"It can’t be helped. That’s the Polluted Sea God’s territory, and it takes more than that to slay the Sea God’s avatar." Lifa shook her head.
"Yeah. Destroying their cores, evaporating them, and freezing them won’t put an end to them. Unless they can take them out of the water and destroy the cores in the dry state." Rhea crossed her arms and shared the method via Elysium Group Chat.
"Nell, that’s enough. Please return." Elysia sent direct telepathy to the floating God-tier buffer amidst the clouds below.
*Zap*
Nell teleported to Elysia’s side while wiping her sweat with a handkerchief. "Phew, giving buffs is a bit tiring. So, when are we going to make our move?"
"We need to wait for news from Timus first. The World Alliance and our saintesses should resolve their parts, and we will go straight to the Polluted Sea God’s true body." Lifa looked in a particular direction from the latest scanned area.
They still couldn’t spot the main target whether it was using divination or advanced technology. Yet, the original Sea God, Oceanid, somehow crossed her mind. She was still wondering about his situation and whereabouts.
"???" Xentia leaned forward, glancing at what Elysia was accessing through ES Nirvana’s super panel.
The chibi version of her guided Elysia’s command. This mothership was governed by an advanced Artificial Intelligence, known as Little Xen. Little Xen managed every aspect of the ES Nirvana’s operations, from navigation and combat to life support and resource allocation. It also served as her secondary presence to assist her authority in the main server.
Little Xen had no emotions and soul, only an artificial presence under Xentia’s control. The AI’s voice was omniscient, guiding and assisting Elysia with a calm, robotic tone.
"..." Elysia was silent for a moment and glanced at Xentia after finding the data she was looking for.
Hidden within the ship’s structure were vast arrays of doomsday weapons, capable of ending the world. These included planet-destroying plasma cannons, gravity disrupters that could tear apart celestial bodies, and a massive energy beam known as the Star Annihilator, capable of obliterating a star.
The Power Core was the most heavily guarded section of the ship. ES Nirvana housed several Stardust Reactors, but Xentia recently built a new one with dark matter as the source. It was the reason Xentia occasionally asked Ai and Zera for help.
The Dark Matter Reactor’s containment chamber glowed with an intense, otherworldly light, casting long shadows across the metallic walls. It was still under experiment, an ancient and almost limitless energy source.
"What is it, master?" Xentia asked curiously. She felt proud of her discoveries, and she expected some praise.
"I am so impressed with the way you handled technology development, Xen. But, please be extra careful in doing things. Feel free to ask us for help." Elysia raised her hand and Xentia bent over as if expecting her head pat, and Xentia got it.
She knew it. She raised many dangerous girls, and they were her family. Xentia’s development was boundless after regaining perfection as a living being. As a combination of a perfect human’s prowess, angel-like power, and AI’s supercomputer processing, Xentia held the God-like power despite not yet reaching divine ascension.
"Yes, master." Xentia smiled in reply, feeling happy and proud.
"Timus shared his vision through the Vision Orb." Fortuna tapped Lifa’s arm while pointing to the glowed magic item on the table.
"Xentia, please connect the projection to the main screen." Lifa handed over the Vision Orb to Xentia.
"Understood." Xentia still wished for more head pats, but she had to return to work.
The disciples watched the virtual screens showing the situation in the eastern ocean in silence and deep comprehension. They needed to wait because they were only allowed to move when the battle entered its second phase after the location of the Polluted Sea God’s true body was discovered.
"..." He-Dao looked around with his heavenly vision. He was amazed by Elysium’s spacecraft and its progress in the discovery of magic, but he felt somewhat uncomfortable because this spacecraft was named ES Nirvana.
*Bzzt!*
Timus activated his divine artifact to share his action with Sorush and the Elysium Goddesses. The Vision Orb was functioning like a camera, and Timus attached the item to a sea stone stick.
"Hiya! Can you see me? Oh, dear me. Why am I so dashing here?" Timus brushed his head with his flipper.
"Eeck! Who is this talking sea lion?" Rosa was taken aback and felt disgusted by the sea lion’s eccentric greeting.
"He is the God of Trade. Please be mindful of your words." Remiel whispered to the shocked Rosa.
Rosa gasped in surprise and immediately apologized.
"Hum, I don’t know who this is, but I’m not a sea lion, little one. I’m currently the immunity seal, and it won’t be long before I return to my prime as the God of Trade." Timus checked the popped-out bubble chat.
He just discovered whoever was talking on the other side would be recorded as the bubble chat, but the name tag was so random.
[MightySkyGod: Everything is dark there. Activate the night vision. Please be aware of your surroundings and don’t let them discover your whereabouts.]
"Oh, so it’s like that. You can rename your nickname, and here and there for that. I see... Never mind. Thanks to the Goddesses, I have recovered a fragment of my divinity. In return for their favor, I will sacrifice my body to snuck into the enemy’s den and find the Polluted Sea God’s true body in this corrupted sea." Timus checked the Vision Orb’s feature and stuck it to the top of his head. He used the sea stone stick as a weapon and swam deeper into the corrupted sea.
[Ely: Please use the immunity dog’s camouflage during your stream, and smear the polluted mud across your entire body to ensure your safety.]
"What’s immunity dog ??and stream thing? The current me is an almighty immunity seal, immune to any pollution and corruption. But, alright, ma’am! I’ve received your concern. I have this baby." Timus took out a large piece of black cloth and wrapped his body with it, resembling a ghost in dark camouflage.
Even though his body was covered in disguise cloth, his sight and Vision Orb were not disturbed. He then scavenged some of the disgusting black mud at the bottom of the sea with hesitation. "But, do I have to cover my body with this disgusting mud?"
[Ely: Yes. You can do it~]
[LifeGoddess: Do it as Ely said.]
Elysia came up with a suggestion, and Lifa emphasized it. Timus said nothing more and did as he was told. After that, he explored deeper toward the most corrupted region of the fallen Aquatic Continent.
