Chapter 500: Second Phase

"It’s almost time, right?" Elysia reminded her Goddess sisters. Lifa, Rhea, and Nell were ready to depart, and she crouched down, extending her hands to her shadow.

Elysia pulled Zera and Ai out of her shadow as she wanted them to participate in the world boss raid, especially Zera.

"..." Zera and Ai looked at each other, then turned to Elysia, wondering why they were pulled out.

"It’s been a while since you devoured things. Your chaos divinity has become a bit restless lately, how about you let go of your restraints for a moment on the battlefield? It’s fine to go wild a bit. Hunt those water demon avatars. Don’t let them unite to their main body." Elysia clasped Zera’s hand.

"..." Zera looked at Elysia’s sincere concerned eyes and then at her palm. She did feel a bit restless lately and what Elysia said was right. It had been a while since she hunted some good prey and devoured something nice.

However, she then thought about why Elysia could say this offer so casually, without the slightest hint of fear or wariness. She was the former Ruvoid, the fragment of the strongest Ruvoid God who almost killed the Elysium Goddesses and destroyed the world.

Her divinity was beyond dangerous, but Elysia took good care of her without worrying about anything. She was well-fed, cared for, and received various trainings like the other family members. It was as if Elysia held absolute confidence to keep her under control.

It wasn’t that she hated it. Despite her split personalities who occasionally whispered evil incitements to backstab Elysia, she still craved a place she belonged to. Elysium became her new home, and she wished to stay in this family.

"Sometimes, I feel like my chaotic divinity is taking control over me. I rarely use my power lately." Zera spoke her mind out. The prey was the corrupted beings, and her current state was pretty unstable. She might depraved into insanity and went berserk.

"It’s natural for a hunter to feel restless after a few days of rest. Your conscience seems to say you’ve become a bit rusty lately and urges you to take action quickly. If your chaos divinity takes the better of you, I’ll personally spank you to make you sober." Elysia faintly smiled and tapped Zera’s waist.

She did feel a bit wary of Zera ever since she recruited Zera to her circle, but it wouldn’t bring her anywhere. Remembering the Unknown Nightmare also held the chaotic divine power, she had to understand Zera’s true origin more deeply and form a closer bond. There would be a day when she could fully tame the Chaos Goddess of Destruction.

"Ru, rusty?" Zera widened her eyes in realization. She nodded in understanding and summoned Celestia out of her body.

Something might happen, but her soul seemed to say that she and the other personalities residing in her body would feel better after fighting and devouring something nice.

"I shall slay them for you, master." Zera bowed slightly before vanishing into the void.

"You have my blessing." Elysia waved her hand. She then brought her face closer to Ai. "Ai, please watch her for me."

"Understood." Ai nodded in understanding. If Zera lost sanity because of internally conflicted personalities and corrupted energy, she would be the first one who would beat Zera up to sanity.

Lifa, Rhea, and Nell were shocked by Elysia’s sudden action. They didn’t have Zera in the plan, but Elysia had already sent Zera out.

"She will do fine and will help you instead. Please proceed to the plan as usual." Elysia waved her hand at her shocked sisters.

"Well, if you say so." Lifa rubbed her head and took Rhea and Nell away. She also dragged Timus with her.

The Polluted Sea God almost finished transforming into the second phase, and it was time for them to jump into the battlefield.

"May I know why you sent her away even though it wasn’t in the previously discussed plans?" He-Dao asked in wonder, feeling somewhat curious.

"The Polluted Sea God held the power of corruption. Zera could be the nemesis of that kind of power for us to analyze its origin. Her wild side is starting to take over, and she has to hunt occasionally." Elysia put a lot of focused scans into the Polluted Sea God to get more accurate analysis results. She then handed the rest to Xentia.

ES Nirvana slowly descended from orbit and locked onto the newly transformed Polluted Sea God.

"I see... you are raising a monster that might one day bite you, Elysia." He-Dao sighed. He felt that Zera had some similarities to the Heavenly Demon and the Abyssal Nirvana Demon. If Zera gained more power, it would be a huge threat.

"Then, I shall become a presence where her bite won’t hurt. We brought her, and we need to be responsible for her. If she misbehaves, I will personally spank her." Elysia raised her fist confidently.

She couldn’t tame Zera if she was weak, so she had to become strong, strong enough to withstand anything.

’Not just Zera, but Sera, the Unknown Nightmare, and the Celestial Goddess in my Subconscious Mind. I can’t let them stay rent-free in my mind forever. I won’t live under worry and fear. I shall overcome them all.’ Elysia muttered in her mind as she had gained the motivation to achieve the greater height.

"!~" Elena was aware of it, and she just smiled gently at Elysia’s motivation.

"If this kind of monster visited Earth, do you think the locals could handle it?" Darkness muttered subconsciously, pointing at the corrupted sea monsters displayed on the screen.

"It’s an apocalypse for sure, and no mortal can survive under her invasion. Unless the Gods intervene." Fortuna secretly glanced at Gaia.

"..." Gaia ignored Fortuna and Darkness’ stare. She couldn’t do much if those kinds of apocalyptic corrupted monsters spawned on Earth.

"..." Erina remained silent and held her arm. She prayed for Earth’s well-being. She hoped Earth could withstand the minor apocalypse for the change of era. If not, at least the residents should have enough time to evacuate to outer space during the cataclysm.

"If we’re unlucky, we need to face her third phase, right? Lifa still wants to discover the truth that is veiled by the corrupted darkness and the original Sea God’s whereabouts." Elena sat on the commander seat’s armrest, but she slipped and landed on Elysia’s lap.

"Let’s watch them. Lifa asked us not to get involved in solving this issue until they requested it, but we will take immediate action if something goes wrong." Elysia hugged Elena and watched the progress of the war quietly.

As the remnants of the initial battle settled, an ominous silence fell over the dried seabed. Suddenly, the defeated form of the Polluted Sea God began to convulse and twist. Dark energies coalesced around her body, taking over the control over the corrupted sea.

As the seawater began to fill the big hole in the middle of the ocean, her body morphed and expanded, growing into a colossal corrupted monster, an abomination of scales, tentacles, and jagged, spiked armor.

Her once mermaid-like visage was now an amalgamation of nightmarish features, glowing eyes of malevolent crimson, and a maw filled with rows of razor-sharp teeth. The Polluted Sea God, the beast of sea and corruption, roared with earth-shaking fury.

The water demon avatars and minions left everything behind. They rushed to unite into their true main body.

In the sky above, the World Alliance’s fleets from every corner of the world converged upon the monstrous threat. Warships, airships, and fortresses, bristling with weapons and magical armaments, formed a vast perimeter around the colossal monster.

"Prepare for all-out assault!" Dory barked her orders, and the crew in each fleet scrambled to their stations, preparing for the monumental task ahead.

The assault began with a coordinated barrage of cannon fire, missiles, and magical projectiles. Explosions rocked the battlefield as the fleet unleashed its fury upon the colossal monster. Harpoons enchanted with binding spells launched from the vanguard ships, aiming to pin the corrupted monster down and restrict its movements.

Despite the onslaught, the Polluted Sea God retaliated with devastating force, lashing out with tentacles that shattered vanguard ships and sent others crashing into the sea.

Some of the calamity beasts of the monster army had already returned to the Helven Realm because the battle ahead would be beyond their league, but the stronger ones with the ability to fly stayed on the battlefield. They also launched their attacks from the sky.

Amidst the chaos and destruction, the Polluted Sea God suddenly submerged underwater. Everyone thought the world boss would flee, but a sudden beam of crimson destructive energy suddenly shot from the spiraling corrupted sea, penetrating the encirclement.

"!!!" Wales avoided the crimson beam by a hair and scratched his stomach a bit.

However, the crimson beam still drove straight through the atmosphere, targeting the mothership-class spaceship that was slowly descending from orbit.

"Strengthen the force field." Xentia sent her command. The force field got strengthened, forming a downward pointed edge.

*Whoomp!*

The crimson beam got split by the triangle-shaped force field, only suffering a few insignificant scratches. In response to the taunt, Lifa smashed the beam as her team descended, extinguishing it from the sky.

A brilliant light pierced the darkened clouds. Descending from the sky, the Goddesses appeared. Their form was radiant and resplendent as they glided down. Their presence exuded an aura of divine power and purity that illuminated the battlefield.

Lifa landed gracefully on the All-Devouring Whale’s back. With a gesture, she summoned a protective barrier around the fleet, shielding them from the Polluted Sea God’s immediate retaliation.

"The Goddess of Life!" The Polluted Sea God roared to the sky, summoning the rain domain to descend from the clouds.

"It won’t go according to your wishes." Rhea flicked her fingers, dispersing the dark clouds from the eastern ocean’s sky.

"Hehe~ we will suppress you." Neil landed on her elder sister’s shoulder, casting an AoE buff to all within a two-hundred-meter radius.

"Three Goddesses instead of five? Regardless, I shall destroy you all!" The Polluted Sea God bared her fangs, feeling annoyed because her rain domain got dispersed.

However, it was still her sea domain. She would be invincible even though she was attacked by the World Alliance and the three Goddesses. She only had to remain on the water.

"Delora Caspian, a member of the Caspian Merfolk Noble Clan. Your name can be interpreted as sorrows. I wonder why you are so confident to destroy us despite being on the losing side." Lifa averted her gaze as she knew this corrupted being obviously held several unknown deadly trump cards.

"H-how... don’t ever mention that name!" The Polluted Sea God trembled. She got triggered and sent countless water bullets to the sky.

The sight was like deadly rain in reverse gravity, but the protective barriers did their job to keep everyone safe.
