Chapter 501: Desperate Times Call for Desperate Measures
Chapter 501: Desperate Times Call for Desperate Measures
The Elysium members guarded the perimeter, preventing the water demon avatars from going closer to the Polluted Sea God.
The warriors above Saint-level also jumped in to prevent the world boss from regaining her full power from those minions. Unfortunately, there were limits to what they could do from the sea surface. They only managed to hold off a few, but the rest passed through the blockade and united with the Polluted Sea God underwater.
"Retreat." Lifa conveyed her command calmly as she didn’t feel worried about anything.
When the raid teams retreated from the sea and switched their aim from the minions to the world boss, Lifa cast another protective shield to ensure their safety.
The battle between the colossals would begin. The sea monster also got absorbed and merged to strengthen the monstrous creature.
"..." Lifa was silent momentarily as she stared at the angry Polluted Sea God.
She mentioned Delora, the Polluted Sea God’s true name, and it triggered the result she had been hoping for. Somehow, she finally understood what Elysia felt to inflict dominance with a simple statement.
By knowing the divine being’s true name at the first meeting, they could gain momentum and advantage, scaring the enemy and ruining one’s state of mind.
’Thanks to Ely, it will be easier to trigger her third phase, or maybe we can defeat her in her second form.’ Lifa faintly smirked, mocking the frustrated Delora below.
The attack distance of the reversed rain was quite far, and the force weakened so much that everything was nullified by the protective barriers. Apart from the initial destroyed vanguard ships, no more casualties on the World Alliance’s side.
"Prepare to use your strongest trump cards. Unleash the destruction that you label as the power that can slay a God." Rhea raised a black flag, indicating a finisher move was needed as soon as possible.
All faction leaders received the order. They immediately signaled their people to speed up their finisher move’s recharge.
Human Faction’s flagship, the Holiness, recharged a huge amount of holy magical power into their main cannon, powered by numerous energy reactors and archmages, preparing to summon a Holy Catalysm upon the great evil.
Devil Faction’s flagship, the one that possessed the most destructive power than any other faction, the Blood Devil, accumulated an ungodly amount of demonic energy. Unlike the humans, they didn’t need any devils to speed up the recharge because Dylan only needed to increase the effectiveness and activate the backup power sources.
Beast Faction’s flagships, the Silver Hawk and the Fire Lion were well-prepared with their highest-tier anti-demon cannons, ready to trigger the Buster Call.
The elven ancient weapon, the Heavenly Valhalla, required many high-level elves to activate their ultimate attack, the Lunar Judgement. It might take a while, but their flagship, the Starbloom, was ready to drop a star-like super bomb magnified by the ancient magic of dozens of high elves.
Fairy’s ancient artifact, the Celestial Lotus, floated with bright luminance from accumulated nature’s magical energy. Their ultimate attack, the Eclipse Burst, would take a while to recharge as well, but their flagship, the Radiant Blossom, was ready to drop their moon-like hyper bomb strengthened by many high-level fairies.
Dwarven’s pride, the Ironheart, and their Floating Fortresses activated all their cannons. The Ironheart’s main cannon was already aimed at the Polluted Sea God’s heart, preparing to fire their Supernova Blaster.
Beastkin’s combined forces had all the dragons gathered at their black dragon’s flagship, Nocturne, to speed up the main cannon’s recharge and strengthen the output. They accumulated the power of all dragons to unleash their strongest combined power, the Dragonic Apocalypse.
Next to them, the flagship left behind by the previous Soul Fox Empress, Vulpes, slowly recharged a massive amount of magical energy into their main cannon. Because it still used relatively outdated technology, their ultimate attack, Armageddon Fury, might take the last one to fire.
Sadly, the Sky Library could only watch from afar. And the last one was the monster army. Dozens of calamity beasts accumulated their power in their lungs or stomachs, ready to unleash their trademark ultimate attack.
High above the battlefield, the sky darkened as clouds swirled and converged, forming a massive vortex.
Unfortunately, Delora, the Polluted Sea God’s efforts were wasted. She prepared to expand her domain to cover the sky, but the bright concentrated magical energy suddenly shone with super bright light from every great warship that surrounded her.
The premonition of danger shocked her to her core because she would never expect the enemy’s combined force would unleash their finisher moves as an opening. No sane person would do that at the beginning of a battle!
"!!!" Delora noticed something was missing. All the enemies in the ocean had retreated, but the clones that managed to return were far fewer than she estimated.
The corrupted sea monsters devoured by her underwater also periodically disappear somewhere. The most terrifying thing was something as if cutting her off little by little from the unknown, uprooting the newly fused clones from her body, eroding her power gradually. She had to confront the finisher forces from the sky soon, but something obstructed her from below!
Flee, that was one word that came to her mind. It was impossible to hold many finisher moves at once when she hadn’t fully transformed to her second phase. Her invincibility under her water divinity would be rendered useless in her current state!
At that moment, Zera warped with a blink from the void, slashed the Polluted Sea God’s colossal body, kidnapped several prey, and left none behind. She devoured the corrupted blood, the flesh, and even the corruption itself without caring about the world.
"More..." Zera’s eyes darkened. Everything was black and white in her vision, and she wished to devour more corruption to satisfy her desires.
"Zera." Ai emerged in the void, calling out to check Zera’s sanity. This was probably the first time Elysia allowed Zera to devour the corrupted thing.
Zera grabbed the last prey and it melted into particles of darkness for her body to devour. She then looked aside to respond to the person who called her name. "Hm, what?"
"What do you feel?" Ai’s glowing scarlet eyes stared deep into Zera’s dark eyes.
"I’m surprisingly good, but my wild side is dominant now. Don’t get too close to me when I’m hunting. My chaotic power may harm you." Zera looked at her hands and blinked her eyes in wonder.
She did feel much more relieved and free, but she still craved to hunt some more good game, especially those God-tier resources from the Polluted Sea God.
"Understood. I will stop you if you fall into insanity." Ai heaved a subtle sigh of relief as a purplish-blue light sparkled in Zera’s eyes.
Zera used Elysia’s appearance as a base during the human form transformation, and the purplish-blue light in Zera’s eyes would signify a clear consciousness.
"Is that Ely’s order or your desire?" Zera averted her gaze.
"It’s Ely’s order. I don’t really care about you. If you’re gone, I’ll occupy Ely’s shadows all for myself." Ai snorted softly and left the void.
"I can’t allow that." Zera frowned.
---
In the center of the sea vortex, the Polluted Sea God’s second phase transformation was almost completed, but some unexpected variables gnawed her from the unknown. The newly arrived minions vanished into thin air, and the newly merged clone avatars got abducted into thin air.
From the previous few days, she prepared everything to face the five Goddesses and the World Alliance. They would become the stepping stones that would help her to reach her final goal faster. The world domination was already within her sight.
She put her main force in the corrupted sea as bait to tire the enemy. They wouldn’t possibly engage in battle underwater because she reigned supreme in the sea. In front of such terrestrial creatures, she was the invincible might!
However, who would have thought that the unknown calamity beasts would intervene, and the World Alliance would bring the god-slaying weapons that she didn’t even know about before.
The five Goddesses hadn’t even made their move, and a hateful sea dog managed to infiltrate her secret base, telling the Goddesses her location.
The heavenly judgment fell from the sky, gravely injuring her strongest monster imbued by her divine essence. The enemies soon rained down on her exposed secret base, obliterating her backup force. Her strongest monster minion got killed as a result.
Not only that... a particular pink mermaid got buffed up heavily by the divine blessings, and beaten her up severely, forcing her second form to appear early.
And when she would unleash her divine might to counter the enemies, when the Goddesses had just descended, something got in her way. An unknown variable kept disrupting her perfect plans again and again!
Somehow, she could feel a particular blue merfolk smirking at her to make fun of her, and it irked her even more.
"Annoying pests! Not even the five Goddesses can rival my ascended divine power!" Delora was blinded by her corrupted power as the divine corruption began to explode like the turbulent sea beneath her.
She didn’t wish to hide and flee, not anymore, as she was no longer the helpless and weak creature under someone’s mercy. Everything should bow beneath her feet, and she would do anything to achieve her goals, regardless of the sacrifices.
Delora burned her divine essence, accumulating her divine power in her palms. She would confront the World Alliance’s combined might head-on, taking advantage of this momentum to wipe out all the enemies in the sky. She would also kill those overconfident Goddesses in their arrogant moves.
With a deafening roar, the flagships’ cannons fired their ultimate attack. Several massive beams of pure, concentrated energy, infused with the combined might of technology and magic, shot forth from the sky. The beams resembled the pillars of the divine light of destruction, tore through the darkened sky, descending upon the Polluted Sea God with unstoppable destructive force.
Reflected in Delora’s demonic crimson eyes, her doom approached, but she grinned. She raised her hands upward, unleashing a countermeasure with all of her might.
