Chapter 71: Great Devil’s Consciousness

When Kirara opened her eyes, Ely saw the expected pale blue eyes. She had expected it, but only then did she realize Kirara’s black blindfold was a disguised magic item.

"Seal release." Kirara grasped her hand with two fingers pointing up.

A black lotus mark emerged on her forehead. It was like a witchcraft seal, and an unusual incident occurred.

Kirara’s golden blonde hair slowly turned jet black, and her right eye became dull red. Meanwhile, her left eye was completely black, including her sclera. No light reflected from her eyes.

Ely observed Kirara’s situation more thoroughly. Upon closer inspection, Kirara’s eyes really couldn’t see any light. She could restore one’s eyesight with her healing skills, but the problem was Kirara’s left eye.

It was actually a black void. Even though the left eye was open, there was actually no eyeball.

"I’m scared, right? I’m the Sword Maiden and Archbishop, but the real me is like a demon. Nobody knows about this besides the Supreme God of Law and Evie." Kirara closed her eyes as she could see Ely’s complicated gaze.

However, she was confused because Ely and Yuuki didn’t change their expressions after seeing her condition.

"Are you a bad person?" Ely asked.

"The God’s servant does good and eliminates evil." Kirara responded spontaneously.

"Even there are virtuous devils and evil angels. You are a human, but something happened to you. Do you know the cause?"

"The demons destroyed my hometown, and a Great Devil put a curse upon everyone. She took my right eye. I am the sole survivor who survived the border town destruction twenty-five years ago."

"Do you know why they let you survive? Did someone save you at that time?"

"That’s probably because they saw the young me contaminated with demonic energy and partially turned into a demon. No one saved our town. Everyone died, and I immediately ran away to save myself. It’s so frightening, but God didn’t abandon me. The Almighty One blessed me with knowledge and blessings."

Kirara then briefly shared her nightmare story. However, she was worried rather than scared.

Even though it was nice and warm, soaking in hot springs for too long wasn’t good. The girls then dressed themselves and went to Kirara’s abode.

Kirara lay on the bed like a patient. She was only wearing a bathrobe at that moment and feeling a little nervous about so many things.

However, Evelyn grasped her hand to give her encouragement.

"Since Ely says she can do it, she really meant it. She will show you a miracle." Evelyn spoke in a whisper-like voice.

"Mhmm..." Kirara believed Evie a lot. She knew something good would come to her if she involved herself with Evie’s best friends, but she never thought Ely was this capable.

Ely wiped her hands with a clean handkerchief. She then stood next to Kirara’s head. "It may hurt or itch, but make sure you don’t move. Eve, please hold Lady Kirara well."

"Okay, I will guarantee Kirara doesn’t move." Evelyn makes magic shackles and binds Kirara.

"Uh-huh, please be gentle..." Kirara surrendered herself and kept praying in her mind. The Supreme God would help her to lift the curse through Ely, and she was ready for this.

Ely then started to repair Kirara’s right eye. She healed it quickly, but the color stayed red.

Purification was her specialty. Thus, she could lift the curse with almost no effort.

As a result, Kirara was covered in a lot of sticky black liquid because the curse was forced out of her body along with other harmful substances. Kirara’s jet-black hair also faded and returned to golden blonde.

The hardest thing was to recreate Kirara’s left eye and revoke the strange void spell.

Ely dripped a Super-tier healing potion into Kirara’s left eye but vanished into the void. It was really the cause, the source of the disturbing feeling.

Seeing that, she took her medical tool, pulled out the so-called void, and crushed it into powder.

It was a strange thing and interfered with healing. Nobody liked it there.

"Arghh!" Kirara screamed in pain, but her voice suddenly became like a demonic banshee.

"Shut up. I’ve removed your control and mark from her." Ely was a bit surprised, but she kept her calm.

Evelyn pushed Kirara down. Everyone could see a mysteriously powerful demon’s consciousness already possessed Kirara’s body.

That void thing in Kirara’s left eye was the core of the cause.

"How dare you spoil my perfect vessel!" Kirara tried to strangle Ely, but Evelyn restrained Kirara’s body flawlessly.

"I don’t know who you are, but if you dare to oppose me, I will find you, and I will kill you." Ely pressed her finger at the possessed Kirara’s forehead.

She then pulled that demon’s consciousness out and obliterated it into nothingness. The real monster was somewhere else, which might be the Great Devil Kirara told about some time ago.

After that, Ely dripped another drop of Super-tier healing potion into Kirara’s left eye socket and then used her healing skills to recreate the eyeball.

It only took thirty seconds, and Kirara’s pale blue eye was created.

Ely made a slight adjustment, then checked Kirara’s nerves. She then wiped her hands as Kirara’s eye surgery was complete.

"Uh-ugh... Why does my body feel so heavy? What just happened? Did I faint during the treatment?" Kirara felt dizzy, and her entire body was so sore. It was like she had just finished intense body training.

Not to mention, her body was covered in sticky black liquid.

Evelyn then explained what had just happened.

Kirara couldn’t help but cover her mouth in shock. She would never know the truth if it weren’t for Ely. It was not a simple curse.

The Great Devil might use her body as a vessel. Fortunately, Ely was there to lift the curse and eliminate the Great Devil’s remnants from her body.

"I’ve done my best." Ely took out a mirror and gave it to Kirara.

Kirara looked at her fully functioning eyes with tears in her eyes.

It wasn’t the same as her original pale blue eyes, but she couldn’t ask for more. This pair of red-blue heterochromia eyes were unique.

In the past, she could only dream of seeing the light and color of the world’s beauty with her eyes again. That dream came true right now. The Supreme God was so benevolent by introducing Ely to her.

"Lady Ely, I don’t know how to thank you. You have saved my life and freed me from the Great Devil. I can become the Supreme God’s servant, but you are forever my savior." Kirara grasped Ely’s hand and expressed her gratitude. However, words were not enough to say how grateful she was.

Seeing the opportunity, Ely immediately played her card and dug up a lot of information from Kirara’s mouth.

Unfortunately, Kirara just got to know Ely. They didn’t share a past together. Kirara’s encounter with Evelyn was merely due to a fateful coincidence. Evelyn and Kirara then became good friends who helped each other.
