Chapter 72: Some People Wanna See the World Burn
Chapter 72: Some People Wanna See the World Burn
As the night wore on, Ely decided to excuse herself. It was time for her to leave.
She reached an agreement with Evelyn for a mutually beneficial cooperative relationship.
Not only that. Sword Maiden Kirara, representing the Temple of Law, also built an alliance with the Sacred Sakura Holy Land.
Sadly, Evelyn couldn’t say much about Ely’s past and said it wasn’t time yet, similar to Yuuki’s answer. Ely only got the stories of her academy’s daily life.
"You don’t want to stay the night?" Evelyn tugged at the hem of Ely’s sleeve. Ely came for her help and assistance. Yet, she had to wait to fulfil Ely’s request. She felt guilty as she couldn’t come with Ely right now.
"We need to prepare for the ancient secret realm. It’s only two weeks away." Ely tapped Evelyn’s hand.
"Can we stay in touch? How do I contact you?" Evelyn looked at Ely’s mesmerizing purplish-blue eyes with a hopeful gaze.
Ely then gave several items to Evelyn and Kirara as a gift.
"Well then, see you again." Yuuki bid her farewell. She took Ely’s hand, and they flew into the night sky.
"..." Evelyn waved her hand to the night sky until she could no longer see Yuuki and Ely.
"Evie..." Kirara reached out her hand but stopped. It was hanging mid-air. She knew her friend chose to stay because of her.
"My friend Kirara, do you still remember my promise to you?" Evelyn grasped Kirara’s hand and looked her friend in the eye.
"Mm, I still remember that. However, I don’t think you need me anymore since you’ve found the person you’ve been looking for." Kirara looked down. She knew her friend would leave her one day, but she was unwilling.
"Nee, Kirara... Do you want to meet my Supreme God? We may worship and serve the same God." Evelyn glanced up at the starry night sky.
"!?" Kirara gasped in surprise. She knew her friend was also a God’s servant, but she never knew they worshipped the same God.
"We may meet the Supreme Goddess when we visit the Sacred Sakura Holy Land. She is the Almighty One with the divine miracle of creation." Evelyn smiled faintly.
"Oh, my God. Is the Supreme God in the mortal realm all along? Is he in the Sacred Sakura Holy Land? So, Lady Ely is the Supreme God’s priestess and messenger? Lady Ely came here because of his orders? But why has the Almighty One never graced his presence to us, his faithful believers? We barely have any records about him apart from the ancestral remains." Kirara threw a series of words with excitement.
"Please calm down. That is the Supreme Goddess, a female God. The Goddess whom I serve and worship."
"Then, have you ever met the Supreme Goddess?"
"Yes. It was an unforgettable moment for me."
Kirara then asked Evelyn to share the detail about the Supreme Goddess. She also asked about what the Supreme Goddess looked like.
She had only been curious in the past, but Evelyn truly got her attention now. Previously, she tried to convert Evelyn into the Supreme God’s believer, but they were sisters all along.
Evelyn happily explained her Goddess Master’s greatness to her friend. Be it strength, appearance, character, and sovereignty... no one could rival her Goddess Master, the Supreme Goddess.
Unfortunately, the Supreme Goddess recuperated somewhere after saving the world and the universe from evil and terrifying cosmic creatures.
Kirara listened to everything in awe. It was all about the Almighty One, her God.
According to Evelyn’s description, the Supreme Goddess was a six-winged Peerless Angelic Goddess.
The Supreme Goddess had many forms and possessed countless titles, such as Angelic Goddess, the Goddess of Light, and many more.
Kirara was too absorbed by her friend’s story; indirectly, she believed it as part of her belief.
The Light, the six-winged angel, the sun, the Almighty One, and the Supreme Being... Everything was similar to the Supreme God of Law’s depiction.
Evelyn had no idea whether the real Supreme God of Law existed. Still, she was determined to convert her friend and the Temple of Law to her belief in serving her Goddess Master.
Someday, a particular God might be furious because the roots that worshipped him in the mortal world would abandon him to serve another God.
Unfortunately, Ely was oblivious to Evelyn’s deeds. She fetched Azrael, and then they returned to the Sacred Mountain by long-distance teleportation.
---
Twelve days passed, and Ely never stepped out of the Sacred Mountain. She and her disciples were busy with their own activities.
The recent events in the Northern Realm became increasingly chaotic because the Tiangong Sacred Land became public enemies after offending the Sacred Sakura Holy Land.
The Tiangong Sacred Land had suffered significant losses in the last two weeks because of the Frozen Cloud Immortal Palace and Blood Moon Pavilion. The former was passive, but the latter actively antagonized the Tiangong Sacred Land.
*Bam!*
The great silver python-like man slammed his hand onto the table, pulverizing it into dust. As the Patriarch, he felt incredibly humiliated because his sacred land suddenly became everyone’s enemy.
Not only did the righteous sects want to uphold justice, but the demonic faction also wanted to reap the benefit by taking advantage of the chaos.
Everything happened because an elder and a great elder targeted the two legendary nine-tailed foxes!
"I can fathom the Frozen Cloud Immortal Palace’s reasoning, but why is the Blood Moon Pavilion from the far south joining the chaos to oppose us!? Does everyone want to see the world burn by bringing down this king!?" The Silver Python grumbled in rage.
"Patriarch, do we need to humble ourselves and make peace with the Sacred Sakura Holy Land? Elder Fiery Bear and Great Elder Grieved Panda are the cause. Ghak!" The Turtle Sage voiced his suggestion respectfully, but the Patriarch strangled him.
"Do you think my Tiangong Sacred Land will be scared!? We can burn the entire world if we so desire!" The Silver Python grabbed the old turtle by the neck.
"Please ease your anger, Patriarch. We have lost many people, and we have also lost many allies because of the nine-tailed fox sisters."
"We may be able to stand our ground in front of many secular sects and clans, but three holy lands are targeting us."
"Sacred Sakura Holy Land is still mysterious and unfathomable. According to recent news, their holy saintess and her guardians thwarted the Evil God’s descent to the mortal world."
"Celestial Fox has already reached the 10th Rank and joined the Sacred Sakura Holy Land. The young Shadow Fox is also an S Rank alchemist. We need to reconsider our decision again. For what reason are we fighting this pointless thing?"
"We can kill them and send them to the Sacred Sakura Holy Land’s people. If the situation continues like this, I’m afraid we will be invaded by many factions from all directions."
The other elders immediately begged the Patriarch to reconsider the decision as they didn’t wish to fight against the Sacred Sakura Holy Land, considering their current situation.
"Nothing will change. We will destroy the Sacred Sakura Holy Land. The opposing forces won’t dare launch a large-scale attack on us. The first thing we need to do is to send our talented disciples to capture their disciples in the ancient secret realm. They don’t know who they are offending. Not even an authentic God would dare to offend our sacred land rashly. We can always summon our Great Ancestor from heaven." The Silver Python threw the old turtle and hissed like a sly snake.
Since the Patriarch had already spoken, the other elders could only agree as they had no choice. They still had a God backing them up, so they weren’t too desperate.
---
It was two days before the ancient secret realm’s opening. Ely looked at the report Gabriella gave her.
She didn’t expect the so-called allies to actively oppose the Tiangong Sacred Land for her. The influence of a 10th Rank expert and an S Rank alchemist caused those people to try their best to be on the Sacred Sakura’s good side.
Even some big demonic sects wanted a piece of the Tiangong Sacred Land by utilizing the chaos to reap the easy benefits.
Despite the turmoil in the last two weeks, Ely has yet to receive an emergency call from the allies. However, there was one thing that concerned her the most.
Blood Moon Pavilion... The holy land in the far south also joined the chaos. She had no idea about their motive, but she probably didn’t need to do anything since two holy lands were already opposing the Tiangong Sacred Land.
"Previously, everyone lost their minds to hunting the nine-tailed foxes. However, they are now desperate to curry favor with us." Ely found it a little funny. Nevertheless, she managed to throw problems onto other people to solve.
Gabriella and the other disciples looked at their master with a satisfied smiles.
All they did was spice things up, and those pawns worked well to destroy the Tiangong Sacred Land, including its former allies. The world was burning to purge the evildoers for their master’s sake.
