Chapter 86 - 86 86 She Recognizes

?Chapter 86: Chapter 86 She Recognizes Chapter 86: Chapter 86 She Recognizes Hearing Han Chi’s words spoken through gritted teeth, Luo Ning snapped back to reality.

“Judging from the old man’s attire and manner of speaking, he should be a Southern Curse Master,” Luo Ning analyzed.

In her previous life, Luo Ning had learned Feng Shui from her father. Although she had spent most of her time after that navigating through the entertainment circle without much use for it, she still knew quite a bit about related matters.

Han Chi and Fu Yunbing were startled; they were aware of the existence of Curse Masters. “What? That old man is actually a Curse Master, no wonder he uses living people as hosts for Gu Worms.”

According to their knowledge, there were two factions of Curse Masters in the Southern Ocean region.

One faction always followed the rules, never actively harming people; the other was more malevolent, enjoying the use of various curse evil magics to harm others or accomplish tasks.

The elder clearly belonged to the latter.

Han Chi asked Luo Ning, “Is that old man powerful?”

Luo Ning replied, “He does have some skills. The evil spirit and malevolent aura around him are dense, and undoubtedly, he’s not killed just a few people.”

Han Chi continued to inquire, “So what do we do? Do we still go for the rescue?”

Luo Ning said, “If it weren’t for this Curse Master, I’d have a way to temporarily stun these people and rescue them, but with that old man there, it’s going to be tricky.”

She had not been reborn for long, mostly participating in programs; thus, her cultivation time was short, and she hadn’t found anything suitable to use as a weapon that contained the essence of evil spirit.

She was confident that she wouldn’t be at a disadvantage against the elder in a battle, but with the others also wielding weapons and so many to look after, she feared the possibility of an accident.

After some thought, she added, “Let’s go and find some beast bones now. I can set up an Array with them, so we don’t have to worry about the elder causing trouble.”

“Okay, we’ll follow your lead,” Han Chi and Fu Yunbing agreed, knowing that they couldn’t handle a Curse Master.

Thus, the four of them split up to search for beast bones. With her familiarity with the primeval forest and the use of Divination, Luo Ning quickly found a pile of beast bones and carried them back to their original location.

She dipped her talisman pen in vermillion and continuously drew array talismans on the beast bones.

Before long, Lu Xun came back with a large bundle of beast bones tied up with vines.

Seeing this, Luo Ning was surprised, “Mr. Lu, you found beast bones so quickly?”

And he had found so many; Lu Xun was certainly not as simple as he appeared.

Lu Xun just smiled, “I was fortunate. I didn’t go far when I came across them.”

“Is that enough? If not, I can go find more.”

Luo Ning said, “It’s enough.”

Then she continued drawing. By the time Han Chi and Fu Yunbing returned, the bones they found added together were not even half as much as Lu Xun’s.

But it was clear that both had tried their best.

“Luo Ning, do you still need more?” Han Chi asked, panting.

Luo Ning shook her head, “That’s enough, you two rest.”

She also drew symbols on the beast bones they had brought, “You wait here, I’ll set up the Array around.”

“Alright!” They knew they couldn’t help with this matter.

Luo Ning, holding the Compass, went around the perimeter of the wooden house, buried the beast bones at seven different positions, and formed a circle.

She moved agilely around the area, unnoticed by the patrolmen near the cabin.

After burying all the beast bones, Luo Ning returned to her original spot.

“These beast bones will be effective in seven hours. Let’s go back for now and take action later tonight.”

Fu Yunbing expressed his concern, “The leader plans to capture people tonight. If he finds out we’re not there, will it jeopardize the others?”

Luo Ning said, “Who says we won’t be here? Let’s just come along as if we were kidnapped too.”

Han Chi and Fu Yunbing immediately understood her plan, “You mean we pretend to be kidnapped as well, and then look for an opportunity to act?”

Luo Ning nodded, “Exactly, our current situation is better suited for delivering ourselves into their hands to make a move.”

“Have you already called for help on the live broadcast?” she asked.

Fu Yunbing nodded, “We’ve called for help. If everything goes as expected, there should be a rescue team arriving on the island by tonight.”

Luo Ning smiled, “That’s right. When the time comes, leave a special signal for them, so they can coordinate with us inside and out, and we can capture all the kidnappers in one fell swoop.”

She had divined earlier that the rescue team would arrive after the kidnappers, or else they could let the rescue team take Tong Jia and the others away beforehand.

Now, they could only take the risk, but she was still confident that she could protect everyone.

Han Chi and Fu Yunbing exchanged glances, thought it over, and finally agreed, “Alright, we only have this option now.”

They had to trust that the “Array” Luo Ning set up would work, and that she could hold off the Curse Master so they could manage the rescue.

“Let’s head back,” Luo Ning stood up.

“Okay!” The other three followed her out of the underbrush.

They couldn’t return empty-handed, so they looked for food along the way.

“That leader looks like one of our Huaxia people, but it’s hard to say for sure. I haven’t seen him on the International Black Alliance’s list that we have access to,” Han Chi said to Fu Yunbing.

Fu Yunbing replied, “He does seem like a Huaxia person. Surprising that someone so young has risen to the rank of leader.”

Listening to their conversation, Luo Ning asked with mild curiosity, “There isn’t just one leader in the International Black Alliance?”

“The International Black Alliance is made up of people from different countries, each managing different areas and all referred to as leaders. These leaders then form a council of the Black Alliance.”

“If there’s any major action or plan to be implemented, it has to be decided by a vote in the council of leaders,” Fu Yunbing clearly had quite an understanding of the International Black Alliance.

He continued, “That leader we saw earlier could very well be the replacement for the previous leader who was in charge of Asian affairs.”

Han Chi also nodded, “That’s highly likely. There were rumors that the old Asian leader had an accident and died.”

“The old leader from Asia was a Huaxia person, and according to the Black Alliance’s rules for leadership succession, if that young leader is his replacement, he’s definitely also from Huaxia.”

“There might even be a blood relationship between the two,” he added.

Remembering the person who appeared earlier, Luo Ning asked, “What was the name of that former leader, or what was his surname?”

Both shook their heads, “The leaders of the International Black Alliance all use codenames, no one knows their real names.”

“What’s wrong?”

Luo Ning just smiled, “I was thinking I could divinate something from his name, but there’s no way to tell now.”

She was actually trying to confirm whether Shi Ji was indeed related to that old leader or not.

The young man who had appeared earlier was someone she recognized, someone not unfamiliar to her.

Back in high school, when she was coming home from a class reunion, she encountered a frail boy being cornered and bullied in an alley.

Having experienced similar things herself, she yelled from the alley entrance that she had called the police, even played a siren sound on her phone.

This scared the bullies away, and when she entered the alley, she found the boy bloodied. So she took him to the hospital.
