Chapter 366: Steal the Kill

The naval fleet could achieve victory if the super graviton cannons could fire the beam of doom once more. However, the fleet admiral immediately issued a desperate retreat order because they couldn’t let the Superclass Mothership be damaged in this operation.

It only suffered minor damage after the force field collapsed, and nobody couldn’t afford more than that as it would put the human side in vulnerability. They couldn’t scare the monster side, and it would cause the intelligent monsters to invade in a massive horde.

Erina understood it very well, but she and all the troops fighting in the front lines had to prevent the two SSS-Class monsters from approaching land in the upper sphere. Not to mention, New Jersey possessed something crucial that monsters should not take over.

"I am an SS-Class esper. Don’t you dare underestimate me!" Erina climbed onto the great vishap’s back.

She felt a sharp pain in her left foot, but she suppressed it until it went numb with her spiritual power. She turned those sharp, thick scales into gold and ran toward the head.

She switched her weapon to a long sword and leapt into the air, aiming at the monster’s head.

*Clang!*

Erina’s golden sword failed to penetrate the monster’s super thick head, leaving only a slight scratch. However, her aim was something else.

She began to transform those thick scales into gold from that slight scratch.

Since gem, especially gold, was her forte, she could push her golden sword further. She exerted all her might and channelled her spiritual power to penetrate the monster’s defences.

If she could turn the monster’s head into gold, it would be her victory. With the fall of this great vishap, the Superclass Mothership could retreat to a safe firing zone without having to suffer any more damage. She could also provide opportunities for everyone to retreat.

Unfortunately, the enemy’s body size was too large. Her superpower required more time for it.

"Roar!" The great vishap let out an ear-piercing roar. It shook its body, trying to get rid of the little human on its head.

Erina stood her ground, holding tightly onto her golden sword, which was stuck firmly in the golden scales.

The moment a quarter of the great vishap’s head turned gold, its instinct kicked in as it knew the demise was approaching.

Therefore, it immediately dived back into the sea, dragging the little human on its head, before making an abrupt manoeuvre in the water.

It rotated 720 degrees swiftly, creating underwater vortex waves that swept its entire body. After that, it suddenly changed direction, throwing the little human on its head into the whirlpool.

"!?" Erina slipped from her grip. The waves swept her away, but her instincts suddenly screamed of danger.

A giant scaly tail appeared before her, splitting the waves in two like a whip of impending doom. Erina took a defensive position reflexively with both hands.

*Bam!*

The heavy impact hit Erina, throwing her like a wild projectile into the air. She crashed into a fighter jet until it exploded before crashing into the nearby aircraft carrier’s hull, leaving a large hole.

"Cough..." Erina spat out a mouthful of blood.

Her golden mech armour was crushed, and her limbs had gone numb. Her bones were broken, and she could no longer feel her arms and legs.

She cursed the great vishap’s previous energy drain rain ability, and also her pathetic self. It was her first experience fighting in the middle of the sea, and she could only blame herself for her weakness.

"Am I going to die? Grandfather... Ely... I’ll follow you soon." Erina muttered softly, staring at the great vishap in the distance.

The blood had blurred her vision, but she could vaguely see that great vishap aimed its water cannon toward her.

"I didn’t expect the situation to get a little desperate here."

A calm and soothing voice came from above. A masked black-robed man jumped down and landed in the hull’s hole.

Erina widened her eyes when she noticed those familiar purplish-blue mythical eyes. That tender gaze... her heart was pounding, but she wasn’t too sure.

"Who, who are you?" Erina stretched out her hand, asking as if she wanted to believe her hunch.

"Please wait here for a moment. We shall handle them." Elysia raised her hand in farewell before jumping down.

"Wow, two SSS-Class super monsters in the upper sphere near the west coast. No wonder they are so desperate to repel or eliminate those monsters." Elena released several arrows of light from the damaged aircraft carrier, eradicating the monsters from Elysia’s path.

They had just landed, and the battle had already entered an all-out stage.

"Cough, cough! So much smoke and this water vapor is draining our energy slowly." Ai wore her face mask and jumped out of their stealth aircraft, dressed in a skin-tight assassin suit.

After putting their stealth aircraft into storage space, Ai drew her daggers to clear the surrounding monsters.

"Yeah, wear your mask." Elena drew her holy sword, splitting the monster that leapt towards her in half.

"Our strength is limited to 10%. I will help Ely. You assist us remotely." Ai shot out like a flash of shadow, leaving behind a gust of wind that flicked Elena’s white-gold high-slit dress.

"Alright." Elena held her skirt and long hair. She looked around with her divine sense, but this damaged aircraft carrier had been abandoned by people.

Hundreds of people flew through the air in their mecha armour. There were also the three-meter tall mechas. However, those mechas could only handle the smaller monsters and could not significantly damage the great vishap.

As for humanity’s greatest weapon of mass destruction, the Superclass Mothership immediately retreated when the situation was unfavourable...

The great vishap fell into the mythical creature category, and there were two of them. Elysia initially intended to secure those monsters, but Erina was already seriously injured, and the situation had escalated gravely. Thus, they could only act as superheroes to save the day.

"The upper sphere is not a place where you can mess around as you please. You wreaked havoc near humanity’s base and caused several tsunamis recently." Elysia drew her divine spear and leapt into the air.

Hundreds of sharp scales shot into the air, but a flash of shadow suddenly appeared around Elysia, bouncing off those sharp scales like a vortex of shadows.

Elysia landed on the great vishap’s back safely. She thanked Ai and stuck her divine spear on the great vishap’s back. "Since the situation has become too chaotic, please forgive me, big guy. I’ll put you to sleep."

*Boom!*

A tremendous shock shook the great vishap’s entire being, causing a fierce earthquake. The great vishap fainted, but its body suddenly became red.

"Berserk mode?" Elysia was a little surprised. It wasn’t uncommon for a super monster to activate the berserk mode for emergency defence, even though it was already unconscious.

"Roar!" The great vishap roared and swelled up, accumulating a water cannon blast in its mouth.

"Hahaha, this armour is limiting me! I already said to leave this one to me. You are not an authentic close-range combatant, Miss Ninth!" A muscular man jumped from the Superclass Mothership, throwing away his armour and limiters.

He fell like a missile, falling freely toward the great vishap’s head.

"Let’s go to the second round!" Heracles used his herculean strength to the maximum. He delivered a decisive blow to the golden sword at the monster’s head.

*Boom!*

The great vishap received a heavy fatal blow, and the golden sword penetrated its head all the way to its brain, but it wouldn’t spell the instant kill. The underwater fight started, causing significant underwater turmoil. Elysia was stunned for a moment in mid-air.

"He will steal our kill. This is our stage." Ai reminded Elysia.

"Hmm..." Elysia nodded in understanding.

She moved her finger upside down and pulled something up.

The great vishap was thrown by a giant water pillar.

"Wahaha! Whoops." Heracles continued to punch the great vishap’s head, but he suddenly slipped and fell into the sea.

The great vishap’s swollen body spat a giant water ball into the air.

"Water with energy drain effect. Sorry, but we need to end this quickly so you won’t have to suffer more." Elysia split the giant water ball mid-air and kicked them back toward the great vishap, causing a massive water splash.

She fell free onto the great vishap’s head, releasing the final blow to put the berserk monster to its final rest.

"Depart." Elysia thumped her divine spear and chanted her magical word spell. The great vishap soon departed from the world.

Its massive body fell onto the water’s surface, creating an enormous wave that swept the surrounding warships away.

"Hum, you’re not bad, young man. Are you new? I didn’t recognize you. Anyway, I’m Heracles Muscle. I like strong people." Heracles leapt from the water and landed on the dead monster’s back.

Elysia looked aside, checking the nearby big muscular guy. He looked like a senior bodybuilder in his mid-40s who diligently went to the gym. Regardless, his real identity was the third strongest esper in the world ranking, the SS-Class esper with herculean superhuman strength.

"Your arm was reconnected, but you immediately jumped back into battle. I admire you, Mister Muscle. Pleased to meet you. My name is El." Elysia glanced at Heracles’ left arm. The mark was still clear, and the wound was still wet.

"Hahaha, this isn’t much! The other one has more or less been dealt with." Heracles looked aside, pointing to the injured great vishap in the distance.

The naval fleet had withdrawn to a safe distance, and three large atomic bombs were dropped a moment later.

*Boom!*

A massive explosion from three large atomic bombs engulfed the injured great vishap, blowing away the surrounding warriors and warships in a violent wave.

*Swoosh!*

The strong wind came like a raging storm, and Elysia reflexively covered her face.

"Haha, nice! With this, the mission is complete. However, hey... you stole my kill. I can’t just swallow this. If you want a share, you need to receive a blow from me. Let’s have a little spar, El!" Heracles raised his fist with a wide grin.

"Muscle head..." Ai rolled her eyes.

"Bring it on." Elysia took her stance, preparing her divine spear in a defensive position.

"Haha, that’s the attitude of a strong person! I don’t judge people wrongly. Then, take my fist!" Heracles dashed like an unstoppable truck, unleashing a deadly fist as a greeting on the strong person he had just met.

*Stumble*

Ai emerged from the shadows and stood aside, tripping the careless man’s legs.

"Huh?" Heracles lost his balance, but the world suddenly spun, and he was thrown far into the sea. He didn’t see it coming, but the black-robed masked lady was appearing out of nowhere and tripping him!

"..." Elysia sighed after throwing that battle-maniac superhero into the sea.

Elysia looked at Ai, but Ai just shrugged her shoulders with an innocent expression.

After the two overlord monsters died, the remaining sea monsters were hunted down one-sidedly. The remaining ones could only rush to escape into the deep ocean.

Seeing the ocean became pretty peaceful, Elysia hurried back to meet the injured Erina.
