My Goddess is Good at Pretending

Chapter 438: We’re Still Us

Chapter 438: We’re Still Us

Dylan was shocked beyond measure because he could sense his late wife, Aquillia, and daughter, Sylvia were present for real.

It was not an illusion or spirit manifestation, but the living person. If he thought about it again, Elysia was a Goddess with several Goddesses in her divine group. They could revive the dead at ease.

Regardless, if Elysia and the entire divine group returned, and she revived his late wife and daughter back to see him, he wouldn’t know what to say to them!

Aquillia’s melancholy yet tender expression terrified him to his core. He felt his entire being shaking, but he had to face it like a real man.

"Good job, Zach. You are our proud Devil Prince. Uhm, dear?" Sophia gave her son a head pat and looked aside, surprised because her husband kept staring at a particular spectator seat, but no one was there.

"Father?" Zach craved praise and recognition from his father as well. He had worked hard and trained diligently.

However, Dylan suddenly leaped high and landed on that particular spectator seat. His sudden movement made many people wonder, including his wife and son. At that moment, he knew it was only he who could see Aquillia and Sylvia.

In the soft glow of sunlight, beneath the shade of a wide umbrella, the silver-haired mother and daughter sat side by side. Their ethereal beauty was illuminated by the gentle radiance. Each possessed a unique grace and elegance. Their features exuded a bewitching allure that captivated all who behold them.

Their skin was like porcelain, smooth and flawless with a delicate translucence that seemed to glow from within.

Their figures were slender and graceful. With an innate poise and elegance that spoke of a lifetime spent in pursuit of harmony and balance. Each movement was fluid and graceful, a melody that spoke of love, joy, and the familial bond.

"..." Elysia looked aside and nibbled a chocolate stick, entrusting the rest to Sylvia because everything was Sylvia’s plan.

"?!" Dylan widened his eyes because his suspicion was proven true. No ghost, spirit, or any spiritual entity would eat the snack casually in front of him.

The same daughter as the one he could remember. Even though he could no longer detect her aura, he knew his daughter returned to see him.

"It’s been a long time, hasn’t it?" Sylvia closed her eyes, speaking in a tender voice.

"..." Dylan didn’t know how to respond. His late wife came to life, and she spoke to him.

"..." Sylvia expected some amusing response or the like, but her father was still as boring as ever.

"We’ve seen enough. You’ve done your best in the past few years, Devil Emperor." Sylvia grabbed Elysia’s arm and stood up from her seat.

"H-hi... Please accept our gifts. Also, please give this to the Devil Prince Zach." Elysia handed over several gifts that had been prepared previously to Dylan.

Dylan received the gifts on reflex, but his heart skipped a beat when Aquillia would take Sylvia away. They talked as if they no longer had any relationship with him, and that hurt him greatly.

Even though he was still not at peace with his heart, he immediately reached out his hand to grab Aquillia’s arm.

’Ely, please revoke the semi-invisible barrier.’ Sylvia asked with a playful tone.

’He will blame us and get angry for sure later. I am not responsible for its continuation.’ Elysia felt a little doubtful, but she complied with Sylvia’s request nonetheless.

"You should let us go. We have given you and your new family our blessing, and now is the time for us to leave." Sylvia tried to release her father’s grip, but he wouldn’t let go of her.

"What really happened? You..." Sophia flew closer and her face suddenly turned pale as if she was seeing a ghost.

"Beautiful sisters that popped out of thin air. Who are they?" Zach pointed his hand at the silver-haired ladies questioningly.

"No. Go back, to where? I won’t let you go anywhere. If necessary, I will lock you up and never let you go again. Not again." Dylan’s grip became tighter as he would never let Aquillia and Sylvia leave again.

"Why did you have to return and ruin my family? You should have died hundreds of years ago! No, this witch must be an imposter who came here to deceive you. Dear, come to your senses!" Sophia couldn’t contain her anger and desperation.

She stood trembling at the perception of ruin because she was afraid her husband would abandon her for his first wife. After years of effort, she already got what she wanted, but her husband’s first wife, who was supposed to be dead, somehow came back to life!

"You are still as temperamental as ever, Sophia. You need to be more elegant as the Devil Empress." Sylvia sighed.

"You talk as if you know me."

"I know because I always watch over my little family. But, it’s alright now. You don’t need to feel threatened or pressured. We won’t take anyone from you."

"Really? Then why did you come here?"

"A visit."

Sylvia and Sophia exchanged words like a dispute between the amiable first wife and the threatened second wife. Unfortunately, Dylan didn’t like the direction the conversation was going because he felt like Aquillia would leave him forever if it continued like this.

"This is going in a bad direction. Should we greet them properly? It’s okay if he blames me." Elysia tugged the hem of Sylvia’s sleeve.

"Hmm, no. If they can’t recognize us, then I’ll keep playing." Sylvia pressed her finger to Elysia’s lips and shook her head.

"What do you mean by that?" Dylan frowned.

"Hmm~ You have lived in guilt and regret. It’s time for you to move on. You have a long future ahead of you. Don’t dwell too much on the past because I can’t accompany you forever. I have found a place where I belong as well." Sylvia spoke as a daughter.

Since her father already built his new family, she could rest assured. She also had her own family now, with Elysia and everyone.

"Hey, you’re here. Look what I found." He-Dao flew down from the sky, showing a pearl-like purple core in his hand.

"It’s him?" Dylan almost couldn’t contain his rage when the dashing man in a fancy white robe came out of nowhere and landed near his wife and daughter.

He tried not to believe what came to mind, but his first wife probably also had her new husband!

He-Dao handed over the pearl-like purple core to silver-haired Elysia, but the killing intent from the Devil Emperor was already beyond obvious. "Hey, beware of your killing intent, man. I might consider you an enemy."

"Tell me, who are you and what is your relationship with my family?!" Dylan asked intimidatingly.

"Does it have anything to do with me? I just met you. I warn you, stop your action before it harms you." He-Dao didn’t know what happened, but he immediately stood in front of Elysia as he felt this grumpy Devil Emperor would go berserk at any time.

"You, bastard! Are you the one who took them from me?! If you don’t want to answer, then I’ll make you talk!" Dylan shot out like red lightning, swinging his fist at the newcomer’s face.

However, Sylvia stood in between in an instant, catching her father’s fist before it offended the Heavenly Emperor.

"You..." Dylan widened his eyes. Aquillia’s action to protect this unknown man crushed his heart as he could only think that she already had another man.

"Truly the stupid father of mine... I still wanted to play this little drama, but I changed my mind. Can’t you notice it’s still me, but with the pale night dress? Also, can’t you recognize the only human who can make you suffer greatly? It’s still her but with silver hair." Sylvia pushed her father several steps back.

She decided to stop playing around because her father was no fun. She returned to Elysia’s side as if she wasn’t afraid that her father would try to punish her or anything because she was already much stronger than her father.

Dylan became more confused about the real situation. Elysia then apologized and explained a little, and Dylan finally understood the little prank that Sylvia orchestrated.

Upon closer inspection with a calm mind, the one he thought was his late wife was indeed Sylvia, and the one he thought was his daughter was actually Elysia!

"You little shit... You want to play this old man’s heart to death, right?" Dylan clenched his fists, feeling beyond annoyed that his daughter’s mischief had gone beyond his tolerance limit.

"Ahahah!" Sylvia avoided her father’s fist, but Dylan continued to chase her as if he was adamant about teaching her a lesson.

*Bam!*

Sylvia received her father’s fist with her palm, but she didn’t counter it. She just looked at her father with a concerned gaze. "You have a new family now. They need you. You don’t need to worry about me or mother. I am happy, and mother is at peace in heaven."

"Sigh... There are a lot of things I want to know, but what are your future plans?" Dylan sighed, feeling grateful that his daughter was still alive. Elysia kept her promise to look after his treasured daughter.

"Fufu, who knows? I’m happy to join the Elysium Family. I will follow Ely everywhere. It’s not just you who has a new family. Father, I won’t bother you anymore. This daughter has already grown up and is stronger than you. Thank you for all those years. You deserve to be happy too." Sylvia chuckled like a jovial devil. She flapped her wings, leaving her father behind.

"Sorry for the commotion, Lady Sophia. Please accept our gifts. This is for you too, Devil Prince." Elysia handed over the gifts to the perplexed Sophia and Zach.

"O-oh..." Sophia was still stunned by the sudden change of events. The Devil Princess Sylvia was still a super troublemaker as always.

"I accept it with gratitude. Big sister, you are so beautiful. Can I marry you in the future?" Zach received his gift, but he was more attracted to the allure of the ethereal beauty before him.

"Such a cute boy. Cultivate and train diligently. You will meet your own princess in the future. The girls will usually flock around the strong." Elysia patted the little boy’s shoulder, amused by his spontaneous confession.

"Ah, right. I heard you are going to reclaim the original Wales City. Can you share some details? I want to know your views on the Polluted Sea God’s clones and minions." Sylvia was curious about the supreme leader’s view of the Polluted Sea God’s invasion because it didn’t seem as desperate as Priestess Lucia said.
