Chapter 439: Wish You were Better

Elysia examined the strange pearl-like purple core while following Dylan’s group to join the Extermination Squad, the strongest elite devils under Devil Emperor Dylan.

He-Dao and his people recently captured a Polluted Sea God’s minor clone. After conducting an interrogation with no result, the minor clone self-detonated.

Nobody was harmed because He-Dao prevented the core explosion, but he accidentally obliterated the said clone. This purple core was the only thing left of that clone’s remains.

Both Elysia and Elena felt that the core didn’t originate from Oceanid, but it was still a conjecture.

"Where did you get that?" Dylan couldn’t help but ask.

"He-Dao got this after killing Sea God’s minor clone, or should I say, artificially created minion? Ah, I haven’t introduced you yet." Elysia immediately introduced Devil Emperor Dylan to He-Dao, the Emperor of Quadtria.

"Emperor of Quadtria... This is the first time I have heard that name." Dylan shook He-Dao’s hand for formality after the introduction from Elysia.

"That’s natural. Quadtria is a distant world." He-Dao didn’t want to explain much, but he still behaved politely as a guest.

"The Emperor of your own world, huh..." Dylan nodded in understanding as he assumed He-Dao was the Emperor of a secret realm.

It wasn’t too impressive to find an ownerless secret realm or private world and claim it as their own world to rule.

"Is that true? The supreme leaders of the various factions on each continent actually don’t regard this Polluted Sea God as a real threat? Shouldn’t it reach an apocalypse-class threat?" Sylvia asked in disbelief.

"It’s only an apocalypse-class threat if we consider them as a whole in the far eastern seas. Unfortunately, we are not dealing with that region. Their presence in our land is only up to dragon-level threat at best." Sophia flapped her hand, not too worried about anything.

"Then, why did Wales City collapse?" Sylvia wasn’t convinced because the destroyed Wales City meant defeat and failure.

"It was because of a traitor. We had no choice but to abandon that city after evacuating the citizens and our weapons of mass destruction. It was more or less an empty city by the time the monsters invaded. We put up minimal resistance and let them stay there." Sophia raised her finger, emphasizing several important points in her speech.

"Hum. It’s almost a full year, and they should have been sufficiently contaminated by artificial radiation. Even if there were fifty of the Sea God clones, they would be easy to eradicate. It’s time to harvest and reclaim my land." Dylan nodded in agreement.

He then pointed at the purple core in Elysia’s hand. "We call it the Sea God’s core fragment. We harvest it as a divine-grade multi-functional resource."

"O-oh!" Elysia was finally able to connect the dots to a conclusion.

Even though the Polluted Sea God wanted to take over the world, the world inhabitants wouldn’t let it happen. Devil Continent actually had god-slaying weapons, but they didn’t use those weapons to put Polluted Sea God’s ambitions to rest.

The wars in recent years were nothing more than territory defenses and harvest of the cores. Not to mention, Devil Emperor Dylan and other supreme leaders utilized the Polluted Sea God’s core fragments as divine-grade resources!

"It seems the people in the Sky Library still don’t know the actual situation yet. They thought the world would end, you know?" Elysia heaved a subtle sigh of relief.

"They will think they are the world’s hope, and that will give birth to many wonderful talents." Dylan crossed his arms as everything was under everyone’s plan.

"Then, do you know the Sea God’s situation? Why did he become a female Sea God?" Elysia tried to dig up further information.

"No one can confirm the truth yet because no one dares to enter the eastern ocean region." Dylan shook his head.

"I see..." Elysia nodded in understanding.

A few moments later, they arrived at a river outside the city walls.

More than a hundred vehicles were parked in neat rows, guarded by the armored elite warriors from the Extermination Squad.

Those warriors wore advanced mech suits and were armed with sophisticated weapons, ready to face any kind of enemy. As for the vehicles, they resembled war skis of various sizes but looked fiercer because it was designed for battle against monsters.

"Here, you can use my spare skywater jet. Show me how strong you’ve become." Dylan threw a key at Sylvia.

"Uh-huh? Oh, thanks. We’ll join the fun with your machine then. Which one is it, father?" Sylvia caught the key and looked around at the nearby skywater jets.

"The light cruise one in the back row. The one with Transcendent Family’s symbol." Dylan pointed to his skywater jet.

"This... Is this a two-person jet?" Sylvia inspected the designated skywater jet. Apart from the driver, she found it was longer than the others, and the back was designed to accommodate one more person to stand.

Dylan then explained a little about the devil’s newest technology discovery. The skywater jet, the versatile combat machine that could fly, cruise on the surface of the water and dive into the sea at impressive speeds.

The machine was classified into three classes. The destroyer class had the best maneuverability and was driven by one person, the light cruiser would need a driver and a gunner, and the heavy cruiser would need a driver and two gunners.

"This is the anti-matter cannon to kill those water demons. You need to find your partner first." Dylan handed over a long gun to Sylvia.

"O-oh~ Ely, please be my partner!" Sylvia ran back to Elysia’s side.

"Sure." Elysia received the long-barreled weapon. She then got an idea and proposed it.

Sylvia understood the meaning and asked her father for some additional skywater jets.

Luckily, Dylan didn’t mind and prepared some additional skywater jets without a second thought.

He-Dao and his Heavenly Agents also received a machine, the heavy cruise one. But, he received the weapon as he somehow became the shooter with Yuna.

"Wait, I will take the lead as the driver." He-Dao was a little worried about letting Amy be the driver.

"No worries, my lord. I will be careful in my maneuvers. Consider this as a fun game~" Amy gave Yuna a wink.

Yuna also convinced her lord to be a shooter with her as it was the plan.

Yuuki, Ai, Zera, Xentia, Mio, and Erina were also invited to participate since they got free skywater fighter jets.

Elena fled to the Elysian Realm because she didn’t want to participate, and thus, they only boarded four light cruise skywater jets in total, with one exclusive one driven by Sylvia.

"This is a water game, so we need to change our outfit." Elysia flicked her fingers and her family members’ dresses magically changed into the tight-fitting and flexible rash guards covered in additional light armor like what other warriors wore.

The girls chatted happily as if they were going to play a game, and it made the surrounding elites wonder. They felt those girls were out of place.

"What are those jolly girls doing here? We are going to go on a battle against the water demons. This is not a game." One of the elite warriors couldn’t help but grumble in dissatisfaction.

"Shh, watch your words, fool. Don’t you see how our lord treats them with respect? The one who will pilot our lord’s spare jet is none other than the Devil Princess Sylvia."

"What? She returned after being missing in action five years ago?"

"Yeah, and it’s clearly her. I remember it well, but she looks more mature and elegant now. Also, the silver-haired lovely beauty behind her... I heard it’s Elysia. She’s in disguise."

"Err, Elysia... is that Goddess Elysia or someone else?"

"Shhh, don’t be so loud. There is only one Elysia who can make our lord so respectful, right? She also returned with her divine group."

"Oh, dear lord... Thank goodness. We’ve got a Goddess as a participant in this mission. No wonder they are so calm and treat the entire situation as nothing more than a game. This will be a super easy victory."

"Yeah, that’s it. Our team is assigned to escort them. The other teams will be at the forefront. We’ve Goddess Elysia at our back."

The surrounding elite warriors whispered among each other, discussing the newcomers who joined the mission all of a sudden.

They were happy that Devil Princess Sylvia returned safely, and were grateful to Goddess Elysia for saving the world.

Dylan installed a large cannon on his light cruise skywater jet as his partner would be a weapon of mass destruction. He would be the driver and shooter altogether. "We’ll leave now. Follow my lead!"

"Please be safe." Sophia waved her hand. Her son also waved his hand.

"Activate the level five defense mechanism while we are away. I leave the city’s security to you, Sophia." Dylan raised his hand in farewell and took the forefront to lead the Extermination Squad.

"Ely, hug my waist tight. See ya, fire chicken, lil bro~" Sylvia waved her hand before accelerating the engine to follow the squad’s formation.

Because of the sudden speed increase, Elysia hugged Sylvia’s waist tightly. She moved reflexively, but when she observed the other shooters, they remained standing with their bodies bent forward. The shooter’s body was already kept in position by the machine’s mechanism and magic circle beneath their feet.

*Vroom* *Vroom* *Vroom*

The elite warriors left the city and traveled at a moderate altitude, heading towards the eastern river with impressive speed.

Sophia prayed for her husband’s safety before returning to the palace with her son and bodyguards.

The extermination mission didn’t cause her any worry as she knew nothing would go wrong because Goddess Elysia was there to back them up.
