Chapter 443: The Lucky Star
Chapter 443: The Lucky Star
Rosa Willis, an independent woman who started her business in the fashion sector when she was still an academy student.
Because her family wouldn’t support her in all of her ambitions, then she started her career as an independent one without her family’s involvement in it.
Her parents almost disowned her because she wouldn’t marry the random wealthy guy like they wanted. Instead, she became a wealthy lady herself and made a name for herself, superior to her own family.
Starlight Corporation, a company and brand that she built from scratch, assisted by her close friends and servants.
Even though the beginning was quite difficult, her lucky star blessed her with incomparable luck. By a stroke of chance, she managed to hire a peerless lucky star, the lovely yet stunning Elysia as her leading fashion model.
Starting from there, her career was boosted rapidly because of the many sponsors who supported her such as Holy Church, Griffith Royal Family, Knight Association, Mage Association, and many more.
It took her several weeks to found about her lucky star’s influence. Her luck came because she gained Elysia’s favor, and those great factions backed her up because she was on good terms with Elysia’s circle of friends.
Unfortunately, it took her almost three months to discover the truth. Elysia was actually a high-rank Goddess of Magic in disguise, descending to experiencing mortal life. However, Elysia and the entire divine group disappeared after saving the world five years ago.
Rosa put down her pen and picked up the photo on her desk. That was at the beginning of her career, a photo of her Elysia, Ella, Evelyn, and many other leading figures. "Where are you now, my lucky star? Are you okay out there?"
Regardless, whether it was the Goddesses or the racial representatives known as saintesses... nobody returned. Five years had passed since then.
Some people said the Goddesses and saintesses had ascended to infinity and beyond, and most other people assumed the divine group perished with the Ruvoid God in outer space.
Unfortunately, Rosa was one of a small portion of the world’s population who believed the divine group was still safe and sound out there. Goddess Elysia and the divine group’s members would someday return to Vrelenia.
She was sure of it, and because of that, she often went to the Holy Church to pray. Although the Holy Cruch worshiped the Goddess of Blessings, the Holy Chruch also erected the Goddess of Magic’s statue.
*Knock* *Knock*
Someone knocked on the door, and Rosa put down the photo. "Come in."
A pretty secretary in a maid uniform then entered the room. After the respectful bow, she wanted to convey the message, but she still trembled and stammered. "Mi, miss..."
"Why are you stuttering, Bianca? That’s not like you usually do." Rosa frowned, feeling there was something strange.
Bianca took a deep breath and started talking without pausing. "We have guests..."
"Guests? Who are they?" Rosa felt the mentioned guests were probably people with super high status, but she remembered that Bianca was never nervous even when dealing with royal families!
"That is Devil Princess Sylvia." Bianca felt a bit overwhelmed because she only knew one person from the guests.
"Devil Princess Sylvia. That Sylvia from the Transcendent Family? What does she want from me?" Rosa tapped her chin as she wondered what a high devil wanted from her, but she soon realized something and immediately stood up, unconsciously slamming her hand onto the table with excitement. "Wait, Devil Princess Sylvia, you say?! Is she the real one, the representative of the Devil Race in the divine group?"
"Yes, miss. She came with her friends as well, but I can’t recognize them all." Bianca nodded reflexively.
"That’s, that’s it! If Sylvia returned, then my Goddess and lucky star have also returned. I knew this day would come! Bianca, cancel all my schedule for today. We have distinguished guests to serve~" Rosa pumped her fists up and down. She immediately went to change her outfit into something nice.
"Yes, miss." Bianca took out her magic item and informed someone to postpone any kind of schedule that would require Rosa’s presence.
"Hmm~" Rosa floated out of the dressing room as a happy girl in a floral fancy dress. She and Bianca went to meet their lucky star and honorable guests.
---
Far away on the northeastern continents which was relatively safe, the Elven Continent and Fairy Continent were still as green and beautiful as ever.
Lifa breathed a sigh of relief for various reasons.
"Oh, right! What about Hea and Celes? They are the seeds originating from the Tree of Life, literally your daughters. Are you worried about them?" Nell raised her finger, asking about something important for Lifa.
"Yeah." Lifa admitted her worries, and therefore she took her team to discover the truth as soon as possible.
As a Celestial Tree and Heavenly Tree, both Celes and Hea would be vulnerable to water and soil contamination. They could resist the soil’s matter to a certain degree, but if it was water, it would be fatal.
Because the current scourge was the Polluted Sea God, those water demons could contaminate her babies with the corrupted trees as well, and she didn’t want that to happen!
"But, where did he get all that divine power? It’s as if he’s not the person we know. He spread his clones and created countless minions worldwide. It’s truly a miracle the world hasn’t taken over yet." Rhea averted her gaze to the distant sea.
"Many things can happen in five years. I can’t divine it precisely." Fortuna retracted her fingers from her forehead as her divination failed to probe the cause.
"Master Ely encountered Polluted Sea God’s primary clone a few minutes ago. This water demon possessed no similarity to Oceanid’s divinity. It was perhaps a newly ascended Water Demon Goddess pretending to be the Sea God." Rhea expressed her guess.
"Hum, that makes sense. If it was the real Sea God who committed the feat... with his full power over the seas and water, he should have ruled the world in our absence. Xero and Regulus also had no intention of interfering. So, we are already halfway to the truth." Nell nodded in agreement at her big sister’s guess.
"Hum..." Gaia looked around as if she was there only for sightseeing.
*Rumble!* *Splash!*
An explosion in the lake to the southwest shocked everyone.
Lifa looked aside and used her eye ability to peer far into the center of the lake in the border region between the Elven Continent and the Fairy Continent.
She originally wanted to check the Fairy Continent’s situation, especially the capital. However, something happened at the border. She signaled everyone to visit that lake with her.
---
At the shores of the lake, the air crackled with tension as the fierce battle between the noble elves and the giant water demon erupted into a symphony of magic and might.
The sacred place where the Tree of Life once stood, now transformed into a battleground for the elves in repelling the giant water demoness, giving the calamity bringer no place to go other than staying in the lake.
The lake was only five hundred meters from the Tree of Life’s former glory, but it had long lost its pristine clear water since the great water demoness was confined there under a mighty sealing formation.
Among the ranks of the elves stood a powerful young elf mage. Her elven dress billowed in the wind as she weaved intricate spells of lightning and ice. With a flick of her fingers and a whispered incantation, she unleashed torrents of magical energy that crackled and sizzled through the air.
A specter from the depth arose from the seal. The great water demoness loomed over with a sinister grace. Her form was fluid and ever-shifting with its purple-black semi-translucent skin, rippled like the surface of a turbulent sea as she lashed out with tendrils of dark water, ready to ensnare and entangle her foes.
Unfortunately, the monthly ritual was already performed to greet the great water demoness. A bolt of lightning struck her entire body, causing electric shocks to spread throughout the lake. An icy tornado immediately materialized, freezing the newly emerged great water demoness.
"Fire!" The Elven Empress gave her signal, and the elven elites immediately bombarded the frozen great water demoness with various elemental magics.
The grand magic circle appeared in the middle of the lake. The sealing formation activated, dragging the overwhelmed great water demoness back into the seal at the bottom of the lake.
"You’ll pay for this someday. I shall slaughter your entire race and bathe in your blood! I shall devour all of you without remainders, damned elves!" The great water demoness stared at the elves with a death glare.
Unfortunately, the sealing formation already took effect, driving the weakened great water demoness back into the depth.
However, an oddity happened. The great water demoness was stuck halfway with her head half submerged.
"What? The sealing formation is already active, but why hasn’t the water demon been sealed yet?" The Elven Empress was perplexed. She looked aside anxiously, but the young elf mage next to her was also confused.
"Do you think you can leave after cursing the entire Elven Race? This kind of divine power... you are a primary clone with a soul core fragment. Master is right, you are not him." Rhea emerged out of nowhere, pulling the great water demoness up.
The great water demoness exclaimed with various profanity when she discovered the sealing formation was no longer working. She returned to the water’s surface, but it took her a few seconds to realize it was due to interference from someone. A floating turquoise-haired elf pulled her from above!
"That’s enough. Nobody wants to hear anything from your foul mouth. Extract it." Lifa nodded to Rhea.
Rhea raised her hand, then made a quick up and down movement like she was shaking something. She then grabbed an empty air and pulled something out from the great water demoness.
"You, give... back! Bloop..." The great water demoness tried to retrieve her soul fragment core, but her remaining energy was sucked by the sealing formation.
Unfortunately, she could do nothing and melted into polluted water upon her death, and the sealing formation was deactivated because the target had disappeared.
