My Goddess is Good at Pretending

Chapter 506: Sea God’s Misery

Chapter 506: Sea God’s Misery

The ocean’s water, now clear and revitalized, began to heal from the scars of battle and corruption. Marine life slowly returned anew, and the once-barren seabed showed signs of new growth. The World Alliance’s fleet celebrated their victory, knowing they had eliminated a great catastrophe without significant casualties.

All warriors returned to their respective fleets in the sky because the All-Devouring Whale wished to relinquish his control over the sea during the purification. Therefore, Elysia’s group brought the sealed casket to the human’s flagship, the Holiness.

The leaders also followed Elysium Group to the Holiness’ primary hall as they also wished to witness the truth behind the Polluted Sea God’s awakening.

"Is he really inside?" Timus tapped the sealed casket as he felt a bit doubtful because it was the first time he saw the divine sealing crystal.

"Yeah. He mastered the divine sealing crystal technique to a certain extent." Rhea heaved a subtle sigh.

"This womanizer, lecher bastard was pushed to the desperate situation, huh... I hope his fall wasn’t caused by a honey trap. If so, I will beat him up into a pulp." Timus also couldn’t help but sigh.

"Did you discover anything about the Polluted Sea God’s origin?" Aether approached Lifa, glancing at the soul-sealing orb on her hand.

"We need to wait for Ely. Even divination and the soul search can’t peer deep into the cause of the beginning." Lifa shook her head.

Fortuna performed a high level of divination, assisted by Luna and Lynn. Lifa and Gaia also worked together to peer deep into Delora’s soul to uncover the secret about the Polluted Sea God’s power of corruption.

Their current assumption was only related to Delora as a particular exiled mermaid expert, the outcast with a horrible appearance caused by the curse, chemicals, and severe acts of violence.

The once noble mermaid fell due to politics and got framed to the ruin with no path of return, but that still couldn’t answer their questions about how Delora gained the power of corruption that could even bring down Oceanid, the original Sea God.

"Are her Eyes of Truth so powerful?" Aether felt a bit doubtful. Truth be told, he had yet to witness how strong the power of Elysia’s eye ability was.

"Just don’t provoke her, or your secrets will be laid bare before her eyes." Lifa faintly smirked.

"Appreciate the heads up. I’ll be careful." Aether took a step back.

It was already a pressure to stand near someone who seemed to be able to read minds, and Elysia’s Eyes of Truth would be a nightmare. As a living creature, everyone obviously held some secrets that they didn’t want others to know, and he was no different.

"Is it that scary? Then, why aren’t you worried in the slightest even though you’re associated with her all the time?" Timus frowned. Among everyone, the one who held the most dark past and secrets would obviously be Lifa.

"Hmm~ Why, I wonder?" Lifa tapped her cheek. Her tender gaze fell on Elysia.

She became one of Elysia’s Goddess sisters. To save Vrelenia from destruction, she bound her soul to Elysia’s, just like Rhea and Nell. They hid no secrets. Elysia could uncover everything if one so desires.

When it came to worry, Lifa and the other Goddesses no longer thought about it because Elysia’s mind was mature enough to understand. Broadly speaking, Elysia accepted them as family, regardless of their past.

"Careful. Only use less than 1% of your dark divinity to break the surface and strengthen it gradually in the cutting, increasing by 0.1% at regular intervals." Elysia held Amy’s hand and guided Amy step by step.

Amy broke out in cold sweat because it was a great effort to only use a certain amount of her divine power in the training process. If she used less than necessary, she could cut nothing, but if it was greater than intended, she might cause an explosion and destroy her training object.

The big crystal chunk already reduced to a smaller one, almost grazed the casket. The crystal seal cast by Oceanid might explode if it came into contact with more than 10% of the Immortal Lord’s dark divine power. Therefore, Amy was very careful, and Elysia closely assisted her.

"Fwahh..." Zera somehow felt unbearably sleepy. She was full and satisfied after hunting and received Elysia’s appreciation. Because she had nothing to do at the moment, she entered Elysia’s shadow to rest.

"Hey, are you also thinking the same thing as me?" Alexander nudged the Human Emperor next to him.

"What I am thinking?" Arthur was too busy to notice the blue casket within the purple crystal.

"It’s the girl who just entered Goddess Ely’s shadow. She possessed super evil energy similar to the Ruvoid." Alexander crossed his arms.

"What are you worried about, old man? Have you gone senile? Whoever it is, even the great devil, if it is under her grace’s care, do you think that is a great evil? That is still her person." Arthur patted Alexander’s back.

The other Emperors also had some suspicions, but they didn’t bother with it for long because they put great faith in the Elysium Goddesses. In the meantime, they remained silent while watching Elysia and the lady with high dark divine power erode the purple crystal.

A few minutes later, Amy finally finished her task. She managed to cut the crystal seal, leaving the casket ungrazed, leaving only a thin layer of seal.

"Truly... huff, ha ahh... why is it so tiring?" Amy was panting with a slightly pale expression.

Pressing the force as her divine power flowed in her veins and focusing on her fingers was so tasking. Her divinity would just destroy everything, and she succeeded only because Elysia assisted her.

"Well done, Amy. The effort to use one’s explosive power to one’s desire is not easy, but you can do it. It’s not about destroying everything like you usually do." Elysia patted Amy’s shoulder.

She knew the feeling because she experienced it beforehand. It was like a nuclear bomb with the power to destroy a country, but it had to be limited and compressed to destroy only a single hut without damaging the surrounding environment.

"It’s done." Elysia beckoned her Goddess sisters to help her open the casket’s lid.

"Somehow, this blue casket reminded me of Zi Xuan." Elena recalled about it.

Elysia nodded in agreement. The casket was locked by a sealing formation from within, but it didn’t take long for Lifa to unseal the lock.

*Clack*

Elysia, Elena, Lifa, and Rhea opened the casket’s lid slowly, but everyone immediately took a step back because the dark miasma and corrupted energy spurted from the gap suddenly.

"Cleanse." Elysia cast a holy sphere of purification, eliminating the dark miasma and corrupted energy.

"!!!"

Rhea covered her mouth with her hand, Lifa averted her gaze, and Elena just sighed when they saw the pathetic condition of Oceanid inside. He was barely alive, but his situation was not far from death.

Oceanid became the victim of Delora’s scheme, but he still managed to save himself on the brink of death.

He lay motionless in the cold, damp casket. His once vibrant form was now reduced to a pitiful, skeletal husk. The skin clung tightly to the bones, pale and translucent as if all life had been drained away.

Hollow, sunken eyes stared blankly into the void, devoid of any spark or semblance of consciousness. The lips, cracked and parched, were parted in a silent, eternal scream of agony, while brittle, straw-like hair framed the gaunt face. The sight was haunting, a testament to the cruel and insidious power similar to the succubus demon’s doing.

Elysia cast a gentle luminance to eradicate the evil energy, and Lifa used a bit of her life force to wake Oceanid up.

With Lifa’s emergency aid, a sliver of life force flowed to the dying Sea God, improving his condition. Every breath was shallow, a mere whisper of life struggling to hold on in the empty shell that remained.

"His divine power is as thin as a paper. He is lucky to survive. But, was he a merfolk in his early days?" Sorush floated, peering from above with great curiosity.

"He was a merfolk. His divine power allowed him to shape-shift with his water-type divine body. But, to think he would fall to this miserable state." Nell looked aside as she was feeling a bit uncomfortable at the sight.

"So, what are we going to do with him?" Sorush raised his eyebrows. He didn’t believe these Goddesses would do something to Oceanid.

"We need to uncover the truth first. Regardless, we need him for the water restoration as well." Nell shrugged her shoulders.

When Oceanid came out of critical condition, Lifa retracted her hand and stood next to Elysia. She asked everyone to take a step back because the victim was showing signs of waking up.

"Huh? I’m not dead yet?" The light returned to Oceanid’s navy blue eyes as his consciousness returned to his body. He felt incredibly weak and just moving his body caused a stinging pain.

His vision was blurry. It took him a few seconds to see a foreign ceiling. He was stunned for a few seconds, but his brain immediately registered his current situation and the tragedy that caused his fall.

His soul was cracked, spirit damaged, life essence sucked dry, spiritual roots ruined, body crippled, and he lost almost all of his divine power.

His tens of thousands of years of effort got snatched because of that sinful night. Everything was caused by one evil seductress! He fell to the demon’s clutch and lived hell for days as he got sucked dry every day until he had nothing remaining. Luckily, his automatic desperate measure to preserve his soul saved him from eternal doom.

He somehow survived, but he lost everything! His handsome face, dashing body, divinity, magical power... everything!

When grievance, anger, and sorrow mixed like a vortex of emotions, a simple "Hey" suddenly caused Oceanid to face reality, telling him that someone saved him.

He looked aside and recognized the ones who saved him. It was Lifa, the Goddess of Life, and the mature version of Elysia.

Oceanid felt both relieved and happy when he realized his friends saved him, but guilt soon won him over, and profound traumatic fear soon swallowed him from his deepest core and soul.

He got terrified just because he was surrounded mostly by women. As Elysia took a step forward, his mental fortitude collapsed due to the trauma caused by Delora’s cruelty. "Don’t come any closer, witch!"
